either way, it's been speculation since november that he could be on his way to calgary, it's not like i'm pulling it out of my ass

Yeah, him too.

As for that chick who suggested I needed to "get a grip" for suggesting Paul Maurice (good argument against, btw) he has proven success in the regular season and in the playoffs with young teams lacking elite-level skilled talent (such as his runs in Carolina).

Sure he was ****** in Toronto because the team he was given was also quite ******. That was more due to the management of the team rather than coaching, and if I recall he did mention the lack of help from the front office during his tenure.

Don't even go there. I'm still pissed his an assistant coach.

His season with the Sens was one of the most painful things I've endured as a hockey fan. Considering how the team also shut down on Clouston, it may be the team, but I'm not willing to take that chance.

Jarome Iginla. He's been running the show for the past decade, so why not just make it official?

Seriously, I like the suggestion of Boughner. Very much like Sutter and could still beat the crap out of anyone who doesn't play the team game. He'll implement the structure this team needs. If it ain't him, then I just hope its someone who has the permission to run the team the way he sees fit, including nailing any player's pants to the bench or hand them a bucket of popcorn.

I liked Paul Maclean as a possibility but now that he's gone how about the runner up to him - Kurt Kleinendorst?

I'm sure both Boughner and Ward would get strong consideration. I highly doubt Boucher in TB would be fired, but if he was he is also someone who could be really good.

Okay so a coach with barely a .500 record who only made the playoffs 4 times in his career that spans over 1000 games as a coach is the right guy?

funny that you say that he just didnt havr elite level talent on those teams cause thats certainly the case in calgary too so i see zero success coming out of that idea.

I do not like Maurice, he had one good playoff season and that was it.

Yep. Because that's still more success than our current guy. Or the last few.

You acknowledge that he had success without elite talent, and you agree that Calgary has a lack of elite talent, yet your argument is... what, exactly?

And yet, you suggest Bob Hartley who was basically handed a dynasty team in Colorado yet failed miserably in Atlanta would be a candidate?

The thing that stands out to me is how Boughner was able to get the kids in Windsor to rally in a positive manner after Mickey Renauld (their captain) died. He has also shown an ability to let offensively talented players (like Taylor Hall) use their offensive talents and defensively talented players (like Greg Nemisz) use their defensive talents.
Hell ya! good suggestion!

Where did i say he had any success? i said he was barely .500?
reading comprehension isn't your strong point. as ive also said i dont hink hartley is the guy but it's been rumoured he's calgary's nect coach since november.

I like the idea of giving Dallas Eakins a chance. Why not? I think we've almost run out of Sutters...

Seriously, he's proven himself in the AHL and has earned a shot.

Pat Quinn?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he has some dead end job in the Oilers organization. I think he would be another Sutter-like coach, hence I wouldn't want him, but I just thought I'd throw his name out there.
