Bertuzzi back, Nyquist sent down, Lidstrom did not skate

Babcock said Datsyuk, Bertuzzi, Lidstrom and Kindl out Tuesday. Only Bertuzzi possible for Wednesday.

Why don't they just come out with lidstrom's real injury, hasn't practiced for over two weeks... left the ice after a few mins, obviously hurts to much when pushing away with skates... a bone bruise lets you practice after 7-10 days.
Seems like Datsyuk is ready, has had 3 full practices and he stayed on the ice after practice was done as well, why are they keeping him out longer when he is fit to play?
It very well could be a bone bruise that they want to be 100% by the time he comes back. He is 42 and depending on how serious it is it could take this long to heal. I would rather lose the Central and keep the 4th seed than rush Datsyuk or Lidstrom back and have them anything short of 100% during the playoffs.
He's able to diagnose, over the internet, with no information. Amazing!
Oh please. You wouldn't expect it was a sore throat with Lidstrom keeping him out. What they do with the players in terms of practicing and how long they've been out allows you to make educated guesses on what the problems are.
Stop treating it like it's some sort of completely random fortune telling.
As for Datsyuk, you know, it would be EXTREMELY hard for the Wings to make any headway in the standings, with the way divisions are set up and the Blues staying strong. I'm fine with letting him get to 100% if that's what's keeping him back.

Which is sad, I'm sure the home-ice advantage would be the difference, the west goes through St.Louis imo, Wings have won every home game against them (3) and lost every away game against them (2).

From Datsyuk: "I feel better and better. It's small step, but I feel better." Sounded like small chance he plays Wed, better chance for Sat
Babcock on Datsyuk: "Pavel will tell me when Pavel is ready. He's invited any time."
Imo, you might aswell wait with that extra game which means three more days to get comfortable.

Just Googling 'bone bruise' would show that's not necessarily the case.
The Wings expect to get back Bertuzzi, who has battled a sore groin, on Wednesday, and might get more relief before the trip is over. Datsyuk, who underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Feb. 21, went through his hardest session yet.
"I feel better," he said, "but it's a small step. Now it's, 'We see tomorrow.' Maybe Wednesday. Maybe Saturday. We see how this feels."
Lidstrom, who has missed six games with a deep bone bruise in his right ankle, said, "It was better today. I could do some laps, but I'm still not where I want it to be to be able to play games and be able to practice with the guys. It's day by day right now. It gets better every day. ... I didn't think it was going to take this long. It's been a little bit frustrating."
I'm guessing Lids has a break of some sort in his foot.
I'm honestly not too fussed about falling down the standings just as long as we get everyone healthy for the playoffs. If we have our best team with everyone fit, we can beat anyone, irrespective of our seed.
As long as we are comfortably in the playoffs and keep home ice advantage, there is no need to rush guys like Bert, Lidstrom and Datsyuk back. If we were battling for a playoff spot, it would be a different story. Sure it sucks to lose, but I rather they be 100% for the playoffs instead of rushing them back just for the sake of it. They'll get 8-10 games before the playoffs, which isn't too bad.
There was quote from Lidström weeks ago, that there's no fracture. They took the x-rays twice. Why lie about it? Lidström did comment it by himself.
It's just the 40-year old body healin slower than you would expect.
It has more to do with finding a skate that works and makes him comfortable in my opinion. You just saw a similar situation in New York where Callahan tried to play only to make it one game and go back to the sidelines. Depending on where the bruise is and how they can pad the skate it just doesn't help to play through it and continue stressing the area. I really don't think this is a break, but the placement of the injury has to be such they cannot figure how to get him a skate situation that will work and continue healing at a good rate.
