Couple things.

-Yay for Briere scoring. Somewhere BP is pissed off.
-It would be foolish to send Wellwood down. What else should he do to earn a roster spot?
- Probably Lilja's best game as a Flyer. Still has some facepalming turnovers but played a solid defensive game.
- If one cant see the continued confidence and play level of Gustafsson rising, I dont know what to say. He had another great game.
- Grossmann is probablly our best "defensive" player. He honestly wins the puck from the opponents 90% of the time.
- Breezy with another solid performance. Didnt have too many shots on him, but made all the right saves.
- Coburn playing big and hitting people is, like we have always said, a GREAT thing for the team.
- I really dont agree with the Schenn on the point during the PP thing.

653 SA for 0.928 SV%

If you cancel the first four games after new year... the figures are crazy.

From Jan 17. Last 20 games:

33 GA in 1167 mins played = 1.70 GAA

521 SA for 0.937 SV%

Juts finished this one up.

-I don't know how we can send Wellwood down. Wow.

-Voracek doesn't look affected by that hit at all. It was good to see Briere's work in the corner finally result in something good too

-Coburn had a good game. Carle looked really solid on the PK when I was paying attention to him.

-I love Couturier. PK in general was big tonight.

-Briere finally scores...of course it takes two tries. He needs to do it with a goalie in net. At least he's still creating chances for others though.

-Bryz has 3 shutouts in a row. I love it! Every aspect of the team was good tonight; offense, defense, goalie. "Musical Sticks" at the end was an interesting sight as well

Some local Philly gin to celebrate:

And for Bryz:

Filled with tea, of course.

Edit: Oh. I thought Schenn was kinda meh. He would look good for a while, then look disappointing.

Check out the first goal against Washington. Rebound off the glass, Neuvirth turns around and it bounces back over the net, off his chest and in.

It was really nice to see the team rebound from the other night's game. I do not want to rehash what everyone else had to say about the game so I won't. But it is nice to shut down that team like we did. Their fans are very smug and you just know they do not like what they see here in Philly with all the young talent and a goaltender playing like he opps........SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

PS Anyone in the Philly area Game five of the 74 finals is on Comcast Classics! A chance to see the Bullies at their best.

I am a big Civil war student as well. My wife is from Chattanooga Tenn and her father has cans full of Civil war bullets, buttons etc he has found near the house metal detecting etc....Their house is right next to Look out mountain and missionary ridge where there was horrific fighting....One of the bloodiest battles of the war.Chicamauga battlefield is right next to them as well.

So this is what the Flyers paid for, huh? The game had the same feeling when we are playing someone who's goalie is red hot and they score first and we know we are in trouble. Tonight when we scored first I felt the Devils were in trouble. It's a wonderful feeling!

Best part was when JJ and Bill were talking about how fast the game was going to finish, because there was pretty much no whistles, and Coatsey replied:

"I'm going to have to go to a bar after this one at this speed...my wife will never let me come home that early"

Thanks for the good sportsmanship. Both teams obviously saved their better game for the home crowd.

Does anyone else feel like lavy has changed the system a bit? Feels like the team is checking the neutral zone harder and not attacking as much..

"Pawn Stars" has some interesting treasures. One customer owned a unique weapon handcrafted by someone in Louisiana that was used in the War. I forget the exact policy but guns can't be purchased in such transactions that were manufactured prior to 1900, IIRC.

Last week, a customer had a trio of books signed by Harry Truman. She initially wanted $3k. A signature expert authenticated the signings but a rare book expert increased the value, because of the titles, to over $11,000. She held when the high offer was $7500.

Seems that way. That adjustment came with stay home D allowing better zone protection and boosting goalie's confidence.

All I know is this is how you win in the playoffs so it's a good sign and a nice change of pace

Wow only 33 faceoffs in the game tonight.

Giroux went 10-13 for 77%. Looks like the wrist isn't really bothering him anymore.
19-14 on the draws for the Flyers. 57%

Coburn we need to play like this every game. He was incredible. Also Grossmann just solid again. He will be with the team next year no doubt in my mind.

yes. We werent going to win with the style we were playing before. We could put up some big numbers but that was it. Our scoring will come down a bit and a lot of players stats are abit inflated as of now but atleast we have a style that can win in the playoffs.

Bryz does it again. I don't know what his weight is at right now, but he seems to have found his game. I'm wondering if he's at the 200 pound mark or below now. No matter how you look at it, it's a good thing that he's finding his game at the most important time of year. Maybe it's me, but for the first time in 17/18 years, I'm feeling overly confident that the Flyers won't have a second collapse. Bryz is just on another level right now. He's been Lundqvist good the past little while.

As well, Sean Couturier is going to be so good in two years. He's just slick and so good defensively. He reminds me so much of Ron Francis. Man he's going to be real good. Also, how about Erik Gustafsson? Some laughed, but his game has really come around and he's playing himself into the top four next year. And finally, what more needs to be said about Nicklas Grossmann. The Flyers have found their defensive stopper. I haven't seen a defenseman so good defensively since Marcus Ragnarsson was here. Grossmann is that good. If anything, I'd say Grossmann is Mattias Nordstrom good. Man, this team is peaking at the right time. So looking forward to the playoffs!!!!!
