I don't think he's a horrible announcer. I just think he's incredibly BORING. I like Howie Rose a hell of a lot more. If I was watching the Rangers and Islanders I watch the Isles feed.

The best single announcer in the business is Mike Emrick. Stars, Red Wings and Blues have the best announcer duos in the league.
