THE MATCHUP
GAME #69
March 13th, 2012

(26-28-15)
_________ (43-18-7)
7:30 PM ET
MADISON SQUARE GARDEN - NYC, NY
MSG | NBC SPORTS | TSN2
QUOTES TO NOTE
It was just another night where the pucks seemed to bounce the wrong way. You just have to work through it. In the 3rd period, we were very determined to come back in this game.
Personally, I don’t think I played that bad. It’s just that the puck bounced the wrong way. I think my game is right there. The difference between a couple of goals is so small. I just have to keep working.
- Henrik Lundqvist
I didn’t know anything before the game. I knew I’d play on the power play. It was great to be out there, I felt real good.
I didn’t play much five-on-five but that’s how it goes.
- Mats Zuccarello
I think the way we won it, for this time and for this situation where we’re at as a club, I think it’s a good way to win a game. We kept our patience and I don’t think we broke away.
We were getting chance after chance and I’m just glad the way the team stayed together and kept grinding away and found a way to win.
- John Tortorella

Is this guy for real? I'm all for Richie getting two more, but 7-1?! Come back down to Earth, son. I'm going to say 3-1 win.

This game is just as big as the Islander game as well as the game on Thursday. They need to beat a team like Carolina early and it'll become easier to finish them off. Quick start should be a MUST tomorrow. Bury them early, get a big lead, and start focusing on Pitt.

Richie has a 3 point night.
We always seem to score a lot against the Canes, so i'm gonna say Gabby has a hatty.

I am just scared we end up playing another thrilling match, ending in OT. I wish we could just win comfortable for once (while not playing the Flyers, that is)

It'd be nice to go into Pens game with a 6 point cushion.

Always wary of Cam Ward. That said, we need to keep the points coming heading into Thursday.

So someone could,
in theory , put super strength laxative in your lunch and prevent you from attending the game?
Cam Ward always seems to give the Rangers plenty to handle. It's important to come out strong in this game and just play 60 minutes.

If Torts follows the "tactic" from last game, he will likely get limited time on even strength, and plenty of time on the PP (provided that there are any of course).
