Bucket List

I was curious if anyone else here has compiled one.

When I was in high school I made a list of 10 things that I have to do before I die. Quite a few of them got knocked off in a short amount of time and I'm about to knock out another one of them, so I ws wondering if anyone else here has done such a thing.

Original Bucket List (bolded means completed, italicized means soon to be completed)
1. Go to Iceland (August, 2009)
2. See the Penguins win a Stanley Cup (June, 2009...I was in pre-school when the Penguins won in 91 & 92...barely counts)
3. Live in a foreign country (Denmark, 2009-10)
4. See a hockey game in Europe (Sparta Praha in 2009, KalPa in 2010 and soon-to-be KalPa in the playoffs this month)
5. Skydive...this is pretty much mandatory for a bucket list.
6. See a soccer game in Europe (I only half-count it because it was an AGF game in Denmark...I wanted to see an FC Barcelona game while visiting Barcelona, but the only weekend that worked for my schedule aligned with an off-weekend for the team...bah)
7. See an Argentinian soccer game in person (haven't come anywhere near close to doing this...I haven't even seen a soccer game anywhere in the Americas yet)
8. Nepal (namely the Himalayas...I have no absurd motion of ever climbing any of them, I've been arthritic since the age of 9, but I still need to see them at some point)
9. See the northern lights from Lapland...should happen this weekend.
10. Write a screenplay (I wound up choosing television/film writer as a profession...so I've got a couple TV scripts and a film script in progress right now...now it's just a matter of getting one of them actually produced, which wasn't a stipulation of the original list)

Recently I decided to update that list, removing completed (or soon-to-be-completed tasks)
1. Ride the Trans-Siberian Railway from start to finish
2. Win an Emmy
3. Have a written work be made into a film.
4. Visit Pripyat, Ukraine (Chernobyl...I've been oddly obsessed with it since I was a kid and my interest in photography has only heightened that interest)
5. Visit at least 50 countries in my lifetime (currently at 15, will add Sweden and Norway within the next couple weeks)
6. Visit Nepal (+2)
7. Publish a novel
8. See an Argentinian soccer game in person (-)
9. Visit at least 6 of the continents (I'm not holding my breath on Antarctica)
10. See a FC Barcelona game in person (FCB isn't my favorite club team in the world, but **** it...Barcelona is an insanely amazing city and that experience is what made me a fan...seeing a game at Camp Nou would be ridiculous...I'd prefer to do this while Messi is still in God mode)

Travel

♦ Visit Slovenia (completed in 2007)
♦ Visit the German Christmas markets (completed in 2010)
♦ Overland trip cross-country (hopefully doing it this summer, planning on taking the train to California and back)
♦ Take a good cruise - not 5 days to Cuba and Cozumel on a Carnival ship. I want to go to the good islands like St. Lucia and St. Kitts.
♦ Northern European tour - I'm thinking Copenhagen to Vilnius via Stockholm, Helsinki, St. Petersburg, Tallinn, Riga, and Kaunas
♦ Sun vacation at a really posh resort (something not booked at selloffvacations.com )

Hockey

♦ Be in attendance when the Senators clinch a playoff series (completed in 1998)
♦ See a game 7 live
♦ Be in attendance when the Stanley Cup is awarded (hopefully this can be combined with the last one)
♦ Be in attendance at a game that goes to 3+ overtime periods (hopefully this can be combined with the previous two)

Life

♦ Become completely fluent in French (je l'apprenais depuis trois ans ), to the point that I could live in Marseille or Matane if I wanted to
♦ Learn to swim (sounds easy, but I really, really dislike having my head underwater)
♦ Go to the casino and put an entire paycheque on red
♦ Follow a favourite band on tour for a couple of weeks

This is a good one. I saw 2 tickets in the infield for this years for only $50 per ticket, and really wanted to buy them. Passed them up, and hoping I can maybe get something like that 2-3 years down the road. Just too much going on now to burn money on that, along with the hotel, etc...

1. See a game in every NHL Arena in the league

2. Go to Europe and see a soccer match

3. Take the girl of my dreams here (A restaurant under the ocean):

Funny a few things on the first few lists I've completed such as German Christmas markets, football in Europe, live in a foreign country and 50 countries visited.

Don't really have a list myself I tend to decide to do something then work towards it. That always changes.

I always wanted to travel the world when I was a kid. Always imagined if I had been born centuries before that is be like a Christopher Columbus.

Always wanted to go to Scotland (lived there) and Russia (been twice).

Always wanted to see a football match in Europe (been to Celtic plus a friendly).

Will become a uni professor near my old age maybe in a 3rd world country. Will be earning money off my photography at some point but not sure if that will be as a photojournalist or not.

I dont have a bucket list yet. Cant think of anything I would really wany to put the effort into doing. I'm boring, I know.

On the other hand, I do have an anti-bucket list. It rhymes with bucket list, but get eaten by the swear filter

I've always contemplated a bucket list, but I've done a lot already.

Still want to:
- see a playoff hockey game
- skydive
- many more countries I want to go to
- complete an olympic sized triathlon (to be done this fall)
- go one more conference/surgical trips with work (great way to travel at very little cost)

I am sure there is more things I could come up with. But I've done lots already.

If I'm going to spend all the time and money going down there I'd probably want to drink some mint juleps and wear a fancy hat more than get involved with infield debauchery. But either way I'm sure it would be a heck of a party
Someday....I'm always so busy in May unfortunately.

Good God, do this.

I've been lucky enough to have been to eleven playoff games (including game 6 of the 1998 ECQF when the Sens took out the top-seeded Devils, which is by far the highlight of the 100+ games I've seen live).

There is nothing like it.

Yeah, a bit different for you. It's less than a 6 hour drive for me... But I know some people who grew up in Lexington and took part in this growing up, and they always said the infield is where the fun is at. I personally wouldn't be going to really watch the race, and more for the experience.

Yeah, I know. I'm still young, so I have time. I've been to plenty hockey games, just no playoffs. Possibly this year!

Also may be going to the Winter Classic next year, which would be totally cool!

I've been to a few... and the best one was when the flyers beat the pens 6-3, but later lost the series as the pens went on to win it. It was game 3 if I remember in the pens flyers series of 08.

get chills down my spine when I think about how amped up the crowd was. every seat packed, everyone cheering for one team or another.

know how it sounds when someone scores a goal, or narrowly misses a shot? yeah it's like that for the entire duration

My buddy did it and said the easiest way to do it is ignore the heat and just eat all 10 as fast as humanely possible. One of my friends tried doing it and puked though

Pending

-Go to the arctic circle to see the aurora. Preferably the top of one of Norway, Sweden or Finland. Northern Alaska would be cool too.
-Go to Central Europe (happening for my honeymoon this fall)
-Fire a full-auto gun
-Move out of MA
-Own a home

Complete

-Go to Asia - Hong Kong in '09 and Taiwan in '11
-Release a single/CD/anything with my name and a copywright - Bands full-length album in '09
-Visit Ireland - 3/11
-See Rammstein live - 12/11/10
-See Megadeth live - '06

I'm sure there are others I'm not thinking of. I'm pretty happy with what I've accomplished though.

- See Northern Lights in person
- Spend the spring and summer going through Europe
- I'd like to see old architecture like the Parthenon, Coliseum, Sistine Chapel, Pyramids of Giza, Great Wall of China, etc.

Anything else I would put on would most likely have to do with traveling. I'm still pretty young so I have some time to get this all done thankfully. Just a matter of saving up enough money.
