Hugo Stenbeck acquired 51 percent of the shares in Malmö Redhawks before the season. He pushed in €2 million this seasons and the plan is that he will do so in the next two season as well.
Hopefully they have found the right GM in Patrik Sylvegård now to lead them in the right direction. Patience and local connection were key words said during the press conference.

Återtåg is a military term, meaning retreat or withdrawal.
The literal translation, though, would be return march, as in a march back home (home to Elitserien, in this case).
Leksand managed to get back to Elitserien the following, year, only to be relegated again in 2004.
They were back in Elitserien in 2005-2006, but was demoted by the end of the post-season and hasn't been back in the SEL since.
Each time, their efforts to get back have been called Återtåget (The Return March).
But what began as a word "coined" by Leksand in 2001 has since become an in-joke of sorts among hockey fans in Sweden.
You see, besides march, tåg can also mean train.
And Återtåget could mean the return train or the train back home.
So every year when Kvalserien rolls around, you're bound to hear jokes about the Leksand train derailing once again. Just like last year, and the year before that, and the year before that...

I think it feels.. very fair. And I'm a DIF supporter.
Jan Järlefelts craptastic team build combined with two new coaches, both in a too short time span to give them any fair chance of making any positive difference, deserves to be relegated. You can't replace real talent or fully developed players with Södertälje-rejects and juniors for two years straight and expect to win gold..

The problem seems to have something to do with agestructure. I think it's a good idea to have a couple of developed but still up-and coming players on a team (perhaps in the 25-29 range). Looking at Djurgårdens roster, Gustav Wesslau fits the bill (27) and Klubertanz (disaster this season, 26). The Södertälje reject Jonas Almtorp is also at that age (28, bad season) Mario Kempe is only 23 but feels like the kind of player I am talking about, he got some routine but is still very hungry with his best years approaching.
Otherwise they have 11 players in the 18-22 range and 10 players 30+. Players that have years until they peak and players that allready peaked have to carry the team. Some players might peak after 30 but I don't see any oldie in Djurgården that seems like they are progressing.
This is just a small piece of the puzzle, but Djurgårdens age structure is pretty wierd.

Good point but this is still Järlefelts mess. He should take age structure into account when building his team. And he probably made things worse by waiting too long before he fired Hardy (if he should have been fired at all.. look at the point per game average since then) and then decided to stir even more crap up by bringing in Challe at a very (too) late stage.

Timrå, leksand, djurgården and Örebro would all make SEL alot more intresting and Leksand/Örebro would add more color. SEL needs 14 teams, maybe even 16.

Indeed would be more fun with more teams in SEL, and less then 5 games against eachothers
Current teams + Malmö, Leksand, Rögle, Örebro atleast
Örebro aren't ready, when it comes to the organization, for Elitserien (or so I have been told). Would still be fun to have them in the league of course.
