What do they say about Nate Potter. I liked him in college and hope we pick him up in the 4th. He would be worth it if he is available that late
Okoye wasn't that bad, but he wants to start. He only need him for rotation. Emery will go DL in the draft
Okie is probably rotating in TB. And yea seems like Emery almost has to go DL in round 1. I'm not crazy about our DBs, and would love a WR, but I think they feel that Hester will still be our burner and be better with Marshall and that Hayden will be solid, if not young and fast. DL is a big need especially after losing 2 DTs. Id like us to have more if an open book to do true BPA but I feel like we are going to take whatever DL falls

He is not a WR ,, When will Lovie and Hester fans get this?
On deep passes by Cutler half the time he has his hands wrong ,, WR's aren't supposed to try and catch like a returnman
Doubt that. Actually I won't be surprised if he is traded by the draft.
I wouldn't mind this at all, but he won't have much value. His contract is a monster this year for a return guy who is neutered by the kickoff rules. That's why I don't see it happening.

I'm with you, I just wish Lovie saw it. Maybe the Hester at WR was an Angelo thing, but usually the GM isn't involved with HOW players are used, the coaches are. In that case Emery as GM won't have any say on Hester being a WR again this season
Positives: Outstanding athletic ability. Fluid and field fast. Slithers off thhe line. Quick footed, agile, and loose hipped. Vertical threat. Sudden sot pand go quickness and short area burst. Makes difficult grabs and has a big catch radius for his size. Has 38 1/2 verticcal leap. Explosive, slippery and elusive after the catch - can turn a short throw into a long gain. Home run hitter with dynamic playmaking ability. Not afraid to go over the middle - flashes toughness to catch on contact or take a hit and hold on. Highly confident and competitve and cares about the game. Vertsatile and football smart. Excelllent produciton. Four year starter.
Negatives: Lacks ideal heigh and has short arms and small hands. Needs to improve functional strength to fend off jams. Unrefined route runner - executed a limited route tree and will have to become more precise and disciplined. Inconsistent ball reactions and is susceptable to concentration drops. Not a go up and get it guy. At times dances and tries to do too much with the ball in his hands. Very average blocker. Inflated production. Durability could be an issue. Has some prima donna traits, wears his feelings on his sleeve and sometimes lets emotion get the best of him.
Summary: A small framed, quick twitch athlete. Wrightt teamed with RG3 to form one fo the most lethal QB-WR combinations in recent memory. Wright is not a finished product but is an electric playmaker whose explosiveness makes him a mismatch weapon at any receive spot and enables him to stretch the field vertically and horizontally. Also has traits to excel at the return game. Produced an average combine workout for evaluators who might put heavy stock in how he looks in shorts and a t-shirt but continually shows up in a big way on the field.
NFL projection: First round pick.
He is listed 3rd behind Blackmon and Floyd in their WR rankings.

Nate Potter OT Boise State
Ht: 6'5 7/8
Wt: 303
Positives: Big frame - well proportioned with very long arms, a long torso and room for added bulk. Functional anchor strength. Displays aa balanced kick slide and solid posture in pass protection. Keeps his hands inside and can replace them. Good body control getting to the second level and cover up linebackers. Good awareness, eyes and reactions. Intelligent, tough, and competitive. Fine personal and football character - loves the game, has a professional makeup and works at his craft.
Negatives: Needs to get stronger and play more powerfully - absorbs too much contact. Limited suddenness or explosiveness. Foot speed, flexibility, and lateral agility to cut off edge speed are just adequate. Limited recovery ability. Susceptible to inside counter moves. At times lets his pads rise and gets stood up at the point. Was overpowered by Georgia rush LB Jarvis Jones. Could stand to play with more of a mean streak. Lacks extensive experience vs high caliber defensive ends. Has a history of knee and shoulder problems that need to be examined.
Summary Long armed, underpowered, bump and steer college left tackle whose effectiveness is predicated on length and technique. Does not have athletic ability or foot quickness to become a long term blind side tackle in the pros and projects better on the right side or inside. Could provide swing versatility in a back up role. Compares to Detroit Lions 2010 fourth round pick Jason Fox.

I think he had a huge bonus, but it may have already been paid out. And I know his cap hit is really low this year.

thanks again.
If he is available with our 4th, I hope we pick him up. Good as backup for next years IMO

Thanks! I'll admit I'm intrigued by his as well. However I just about have myself convinced the Bears aren't taking a WR at #1, and almost certainly no one but Floyd/Blackmon with the #19 pick. Not sure I see them reaching a bit for Wright or Hill. But I wouldn't hate it if we do. We DO need another WR, and I think one is in the plan for them, the question is:
1) Do they see Devin Thomas as a potential candidate to play, or is he a Special Teams signing?
2) Do they go in the 2-3 rounds?
3) Do they go for someone later and deeper in the draft?
I'm convinced they are going defense in the 1st round too. They need another DT and DE and I think they plan to address that in the 1st round. I just hope they don't reach instead of taking Wright (or a o-lineman like Glenn or DeCastro). I think Wright has the potential to be a Desean Jackson type. I think they can still get a quality DE in the 2nd round if they go WR in the 1st.

I read somewhere that there is a good chance that on 3rd down, they could move Izzy inside to DT, and even if they don't do that, they have Paea, Melton and Toeania. So 3 DTs, potentially a 4th if Izzy rotates in. I think DE is a clear need, since I think we just have Peppers and Izzy along with two really iffy guys who may not even make the team. However, as you said, I'd hate to see us reach for a questionable DE just because we really need one in the first. If the ideal guy they want isn't there, then pick BPA for other needs and try to get a depth DE in the 2nd or 3rd.

I could see them going Brockers in the 1st and Curry in the 2nd. I think Bubba is right and they go D-line with their 2 1st round picks (barring someone like DeCastro or Floyd falling into their lap at 19).

I'd like another DB as well, whether it be a CB or a S. I don't see Harrison Smith falling to us in the second, but there are some good CBs still available in the second. However, if we do go DE/DB in the first two rounds, our ability to draft a decent WR that could develop into a legit weapon really falls off.

I think they view the WR position as fixed with Marshall.
Marshall
Bennet
Hester in the slot
I bet they take a WR in the 3rd or 4th that they will be the 4th receiver at first.

Sadly, I think this is the case as well. I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on Ruben Randle in the 2nd (if he falls to us) but I also think the Bears feel that Marshall solved most of their problems. I don't see it that way. I think we need a solid #2 (I view Bennett as a #3/slot and Hester as a #4), but they may wish to address other priorities, which I'm OK with. As long as they get an impact player or two who can contribute this year, I'll be happy. But I admit I'd like to see a capable WR added this draft.
There's still no #2 receiver. Earl Bennett hasn't shown he's even close to being a #2 yet.
I disagree, I think had he stayed healthy (and Cutler stayed healthy) he would have ended up around 60 catches and 800-900 yards last year which is fine for a your #2 receiver.
