Kadri's wrist shot

probably doesn't deserve a thread but i made one anyways.

people always complain about his Kadri's shot being horrible. IMHO, i think it's a good shot, he just needs to get it off quicker.
if you look at his videos. he always seem to do that toe drag shot.

When he learns to get it off quicker, you will see alot more goals via his wrist shot

PS. im havin trouble embedding

I really think he'll benefit from another offseason of training. I wonder what kind of workout program he's on because he doesn't seem to be getting that much bigger.

The same plan as many other celebs do.

He needs to get stronger, not bigger. The two are not (necessarily) the same.

That will come with working out and also with more time in the NHL. Even Frattin, who is a strong kid, flops on the ice a lot. It takes time to get used to bigger defenders.

He also needs to get bigger. And you'd think that 3 years after being drafted you'd be able to gain a considerable amount of strength.

No he doesn't need to get bigger. Many NHLers have succeeded at his size. In fact, last year he was bigger, and was also slower and horribly balanced.

Anyways, he's definitely stronger this year compared to last year so I can see the progression, but everyone progresses at different rates.

All I know is that there was one player who I used to severely criticize because his shot was very weak, and that player was Alex Steen.

Throughout his tenure in Toronto his shot was the weakest aspect of his game, and then after being traded to St.Louis, that actually became his biggest strength. I will never want that to happen with Kadri.

I think Kadri is a keeper. Toronto needs to develop the kid properly. He's going to bite us in the ass later if we were to ever trade him.

Yeah, I guess that's true too. I don't know, it just seems to me like even when I see interviews after a game in the dressing room, he looks tiny. Like, just really skinny.

The overall theme surrounding the organization right now seems to be patience.

I think they have been patient with him, and I think he's needed that patience to allow himself to develop. There's no point giving up on the kid now.

It's also worth noting that a lot of the guys that went around or underneath him in that draft, are at comparable points in their careers to Kadri. Those people who think he's a bust because he's not playing in the NHL right now, don't understand hockey.

In regards to his shot - quicker release will definitely help. I don't think he has a poor shot, but then again I've not watched him as much as most

I justt can't wait for him to get a consistent crack at the lineup. Like a full season in.

kadri could possibly emerge as our number 1 center next season. Hes been working hard on the defensive side of the game with dallas eakins. If kadri works hard to get stronger in the off season then he could break out big time next season. I think he knows what its gonna take to become a star in this league. Hes gotten his feet wet in the nhl, now its time for him to splash around

No one can deny he has the skills and ability to be an amazing player. He is a high-energy guy that plays twice his size and I think embodies alot of what this team needs.

He is still young and dealing with the ups and downs of making the NHL. I think leaving him down thiospast call-up and ket him contribute to the end stretch of the Marlies was a great idea. I'm reallyinterested in seeing what he can do in the playoffs. I remember him tearing it up in the playoffs for the Knights in his final year.

If he can channel his energy, he will be what everyone is hoping for.

You really don't need an ultra hard wrist shot when your career is in the AHL or ECHL.

Lombardi and Armstrong have played way better than Kadri this year.

Kadri's biggest obstacle isn't size and/or strength it is basic hockey IQ. He is basically a bag of tricks that is absolutely lost on the ice.

He has the tools but is missing the proverbial toolbox.

Well put. All flash and little substance.

If his AHL totals are any indication, he seems to be regressing, as well.

2010-11 Regular Season Toronto Marlies 44 17 24 41
