Alex doesn't have Manning's quick release. It's part of the reason Manning was the least sacked QB for 10 years before this past season. HOF Qb's like this don't come around often and the Niners window to win a championship is now with our elite defense.
You don't pass this up for alex smith.
I almost kind of agree with you there! but Peyton scares me much like Neimi one wrong move and it's career over for Peyton or he'll lose the games being afraid to re-injure his neck!
The rumored dollar figures being floated out there are ridiculously high. I understand its Peyton Manning but 5 years and 90 mil from Denver? Alex and Peyton both have the same agent. Probably why Alex hasn't signed yet.

That's a terrible conflict of interests right there.
Great read for Niner fans. A column from the Sun Sentinel boo hoo-ing about Niners getting in on Peyton, them getting passed by Harbaugh last year, and he even brings up the Niner/Dolphin Super Bowl. Basically a "damnit, 49ers, stop screwing us" article lol

He will be given a bigger role than what he had in NY.
NY had a pass-happy system. He was also one of their top-3 with Nicks and Cruz. Depending on who the QB is, his role here may not result in bigger numbers on the field.
Positives:
HOF QB, one of the best ever, ok, fine. The thought of him with this team on paper is tantalizing. Like I'm drooling over my keyboard.
Negatives:
Not sure I can see him playing as well as he did before with the obvious injury troubles.
We were a few bad breaks from being in the Super Bowl anyways.
It was so awesome to finally see Alex Smith succeed! He has taken so much crap and never complained over the years. Not really classy of the franchise to dump him as soon as he gets good, and that move will frankly look bad unless we WIN THE SUPERBOWL.
If the Niners turn down Manning, it's one thing. But now if Manning turns down this loaded Niners squad for the Titans or Broncos, you know it's for the cash. And I'm not buying this dumb talk that he doesn't want to go through Eli unless it is a Super Bowl. It's not like we're talking about Peyton joining an NFC East Squad.

I couldn't care less what Manning's decision is going to be. If he's in, great. If not, Alex Smith can take this team to a Super Bowl win with the upgrades made.
