You don't pass this up for alex smith.
I almost kind of agree with you there! but Peyton scares me much like Neimi one wrong move and it's career over for Peyton or he'll lose the games being afraid to re-injure his neck!

The rumored dollar figures being floated out there are ridiculously high. I understand its Peyton Manning but 5 years and 90 mil from Denver? Alex and Peyton both have the same agent. Probably why Alex hasn't signed yet.

That's a terrible conflict of interests right there.

Colts fans will even admit Manning made a lot their OLines look better than they really were.

Our O line could look a lot better if we finally find a RG.

If Manning's first concern is another shot at the SB, the niners are his choice hands down. But $90 mil is a lot of money...

Great read for Niner fans. A column from the Sun Sentinel boo hoo-ing about Niners getting in on Peyton, them getting passed by Harbaugh last year, and he even brings up the Niner/Dolphin Super Bowl. Basically a "damnit, 49ers, stop screwing us" article lol

Good depth guy. Pretty much a 3 rec/gm guy. I'm not as excited as others, but I do like that it's only a 2-year deal.

Anything is an upgrade over what we fielded last year, 49ers need a lot more depth at WR.

Dynamo winning makes me happy. Sorry Quakes, I bleed orange now. I still support the Quakes though, just number two.

Manningham, Moss, Crabtree, Ziegler, and Williams? I think this means Wallace is probably not on the radar. They need to get a Right Guard now.

Well true, but Manningham is a good 3, substitute 2 receiver. I like the guy, I just don't expect the guy to be a 90 rec/1,200 yrd guy.

Bandwagoner? Or just a holdover from the first Quakes team?

He will be given a bigger role than what he had in NY.

NY had a pass-happy system. He was also one of their top-3 with Nicks and Cruz. Depending on who the QB is, his role here may not result in bigger numbers on the field.

I have mixed feelings about Peyton.

Positives:
HOF QB, one of the best ever, ok, fine. The thought of him with this team on paper is tantalizing. Like I'm drooling over my keyboard.

Negatives:
Not sure I can see him playing as well as he did before with the obvious injury troubles.
We were a few bad breaks from being in the Super Bowl anyways.
It was so awesome to finally see Alex Smith succeed! He has taken so much crap and never complained over the years. Not really classy of the franchise to dump him as soon as he gets good, and that move will frankly look bad unless we WIN THE SUPERBOWL.

If the Niners turn down Manning, it's one thing. But now if Manning turns down this loaded Niners squad for the Titans or Broncos, you know it's for the cash. And I'm not buying this dumb talk that he doesn't want to go through Eli unless it is a Super Bowl. It's not like we're talking about Peyton joining an NFC East Squad.

I couldn't care less what Manning's decision is going to be. If he's in, great. If not, Alex Smith can take this team to a Super Bowl win with the upgrades made.
