Based on the Capitals lately and our schedule, playoffs are going to be next too impossible.
Teams we play after homestand:
Penguins (away)
Wash and Predators on a back to back (away)
Ottawa home
Rangers home
Carolina and Tampa on another back to back (away)
Florida away
Islanders away
Tampa at home.
I can hardly see us going .500 in those games at best.
Too bad the Isles couldn't hold on. Didn't really think that the Leafs would beat Fla. The Jets road just got a little tougher. We need a winning streak, something in the neighborhood of a 9-4 run will be nesessary to get us into the post season.
Problem is, this team has yet to show any consistency on the road. Sure we could beat the Caps, but we have games against 7 playoff teams, a lot of road/back to back games. I am more than happy with how they have done this year, but those last 2 losses really put a damper on our chances.

I for one am feeling very much like there is no hope for the playoffs this year, which means the Jets should probably win these next 3 and pull me back in.
They really like to do that.
Yes, a lot of these teams have sucked this year but BUF WAS FLA are all hot right now and TB showed that they are not out of it yet.
I'd say the 20% that site says we have of making the playoffs is just about right.
Agree with ya Jet, I like to be optimistic, but i'm finding it quite difficult right now. I know we play the Caps twice, and that gives us a chance here, but I just don't know if we can pull it off in the remaining other games.
Throwing probabilities aside and going strictly with my gut feeling, we have to win our next 3 at home.
-Dallas is red hot, but we're playing them on the 2nd night of a back-to-back
-Washington, that's pretty much self-explanatory
-Not a chance we should lose to the Canes at this point
Provided we pull that off, then I believe 6-3-1 in the final 10 would be enough to get us in, provided one of those wins is against Washington on the road. That's a tall task given our road record, but not completely out of the realm of possibility.
It looks grim, but we still hold our playoff destiny in our hands. At this point of the season, that's all you can really ask for.

This is the type of post that keeps me believing and gives me some faith. My head is telling me we're not going to be able to pull this off, my heart says yes we can.
I just want to see this Jets team in the playoffs, it would be so awesome.
