Haha what? Lupul, Kessel, MacArthur are just as bad as Kadri defensively, if not worse. Even our bottom 6 doesn't play well defensively. I'd much rather watch Kadri make defensive mistakes than MacArthur. At least he has the potential to be a top liner.

You can also give him protected top 6 minutes by putting him on a line with defensively responsible players and start his shifts mostly in the offensive end.

All three outproduce Kadri offensively.

Ok, lets hear it. Lupul No, Kessel No, Bozak No, he doesnt warrant taking a spot from Kuli, Mac, or Grabo. I mean we can play Steckel and Lambo with him and give them top 6 min but that sounds abit stupid doesnt it. Trust me, the leafs brass as puzzling as they are know alot more abot Nazem Kadri, regardless if your hf board handle is Nasty Nazem.

Nice argument! Kadri hasn't even played 80 nhl games yet and he's been mainly on the third line with very little pp time. Man, it's like you people literally want to see him bust. He is a speed player with quick vision and that kind of thing must be developed with other skill players in the nhl. He even seemed too quick and too smart for guys like Lombardi and Connolly who he was stuck with for game after game on his last call up. Why did the leafs even draft this guy if they want him to completely change his game? How did he go 7th if he was so useless? Considering all the supposed flaws in his game and physique he should have gone in the third round.

Really, what the hell? I guess...next season. Ugh, I hate saying that.
It's really not that hard to understand if you stop and actually think about it.

1. They went into the this season with two unproven goaltenders whose playing styles were radically altered from the previous year.
2. The Kulemin-Grabovski-MacArthur line failed to live up to their previous season's efforts.
3. Way too many passengers on the team.
4. An absolutely sh**ty performance from the defence.
5. No leadership, grit, heart, etcl
6. Poor coaching for most of the season.

The team simply fooled many Leaf fans into believing that they were better than they actually are.

Also, if you look back at the last few seasons, you'll notice that the Leafs managed to pooch a month or two of games, causing them to fall out of contention early on in the season. This season, however, they just simply delayed this month or two of pooched games until the end of the season. These pooched months of games aren't really unexpected anymore.

It's a poorly constructed team with too much dead-weight and very little high-end talent. As such, it really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone why they suck ass so much.

Coming in peace.

By ripping our team to shreds last year for draft picks, and having room for 10-12 FA's.

I am not sure if he could have done that in your media savvy city.

Your fans that came tonight are great I enjoy sitting with them , and get no joy from your misery (like I do from habs misery.

Cheers.

Carter Ashton is reminding me of Luke Schenn when he was in his first NHL season. He seems really excited to be here and is trying to make a physical impression right off the bat. I think whatever line Ashton has been on since Carlyle has coached, has been my favourite line every night.

I think I may be done with the team for the rest of the season.

I'm cheering against them, and it's not even fun to watch anymore.

Such a disappointing season, it sucks to be a fan right now.

I mean I wouldn't mind it if we had top-end prospects on their way up, but we don't. We have tweeners, and fringe top-six forwards. Sigh...

I've watched every game this season except maybe 3. Tonight was the first time I turned it off early. It's just too dang frustrating.

Kessel had 29 points in his rookie season. Lupul had 34. Neither started as world beaters, you have to give them time to develop and they were probably even worse defensively than they are now.

Good luck in the playoffs. The sole bit of fun I can have this NHL season is pissing off the many Pens fans I know who can't stand being 4th.

I'm not sure if our media is savvy so much as they are loud and pervasive

Lupul has great chemistry with Kessel, and is physically MUCH stronger than Kadri. You wanna knock him off the top line? Im talking pre injury here... And you're not taking our leading point producer (Kessel) off the top line for a rookie that blows hot and cold...Macarthur may go through lapses in productivity, but the main knock on Kadri (aside from being a liability defensively) is that his commitment and determination wanes. Not so with CMAC. He's all in, whether he's burying it or not.

Kadri isn't ready. Its not a knock, its reality.

Well, you can thank Allaire for ruining both goalies.

Gustavsson has improved significantly under Allaire. He no longer moves too much laterally and he is currently having his best career year in the NHL and he even set a personal record this year with 4 shutouts, beating all of his prior professional shutout records. Not to mention, all while playing for a piss poor team.
