2nd youngest team learning a completely different system 3/4 the way through a season = losses
Brian Burke knew this! This is his way of rebuilding!Burke knew a lottary pick would be accepted in Leaf Land. He didn't get Carlyle to make the playoffs this year and anyone thinks that Burke didn't know that Carlyle system would be a huge change is a fool.
Yes, yes! Burke's failures are actually successes.
The funny thing was, when comparing the two as rookies, Reimer was never supposed to be as good.
I suppose the lack of pressure really did wonders for him, seeing as he's done more then Pogge has ever done.
However, even though he's done better then most expected, this doesn't mean he'd become a super goalie like some expected, he still has the potential though, he dominated all the weak teams at the beginning of the season.
Funny thing is Jim Carey won a Vezina as a sophomore after a great rookie season, whereas Reimer is winning nothing as a sophomore.
andy frost tonight is by far the most negative about this Leaf team as I've ever heard him tonight. And remember, he's gotta watch it, as he's a paid staff member of MLSE.
Is LeafTalk with Andy Frost going to be around next year after 640 loses the right to air the games?
I kind of enjoy listening to Andy I just get the feeling theFan and TSN Radio are going to come up with their own post game programs....
Guys.. Armstrong is untouchable. We're like 90-0-0 with him in the lineup, but the Leafs decline to play in the playoffs because they want to give other teams the chance to win the Cup.
How does Dale Tallon get Florida into the playoffs for the first time in 10 years in his first year and Brian Burke can't do it in 4? This is really the first time ever I am actually embarrassed to be a Leafs fan.
There very well could be 3 Canadian teams in the bottom 5 of the league this year. Has that ever happened before?
This team is an embarrassment. Sad really. The best fans, the most loyal and if not for Leafs fans in Florida they'd probably have less than half the fans in attendance.
Unfortunately even if we drafted Yakupov, it's no guarantee to greatness.

Team meeting awhile ago was:
"You know guys, I've been thinking...the South East division has a bunch of nice dudes in it. We should kindly let the entire division pass us. You know, give them a chance to participate in the race at the end of the season. I know we're 9 games over .500, but let's go out there and just lose all our games so the South East can get involved again. "
Seconded. Unfortunately my friend,we seem to be the minority here.
How can you keep the guy who is worse than the goalie you're letting walk? Defies logic, try and trade Reimer or bury him. Gus ia a better option as a backup.
