Note: We will be covering the Jets App presser as well as providing our usual coverage of the game day audio.
Winnipeg Free Press: Road woes in rear-view mirror. Doesn’t matter how good the Jets are at home, if this team cannot win the majority of the 7 games remaining on the road, their chances to make it to the playoffs will be nil.
Winnipeg Free Press: Players ok with safety changes if the sport doesn’t suffer. Most of the Jets players offered up an opinion or two about the proposed rule changes.
Winnipeg Sun: Little goes long way. The young gun from Oil town has speed to burn and as coach Noel said yesterday, seems to use that even more when he is “going”.
Winnipeg Sun: Trying to flip the switch. The players can talk about it until they are blue in the face, but while they might suggest that there is no need to change their intensity level, clearly the home crowd pushes them to a different level of play than we see on the road.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets fans show Calgarians the way. A former Pegger’ takes note of the enthusiasm Jets fans brought to cow-town last week.
Winnipeg Sun: News and Notes. Banged-up Bogo still no go for Jets. No concussion epidemic. Familiar faces on the Stars. Dallas local links.
Illegal Curve: Jets player audio. Ron Hainsey, Evander Kane, Mark Stuart, Bryan Little, Ondrej Pavelec and Blake Wheeler.
Illegal Curve: Coach Noel press conference. Injury update on Bogosian (remains day-to-day, may not be player for tomorrow) whereas Buff is ok. Discussion of proposed rule changes (hybrid icing, gloving the puck, trapezoid for goalies). Fun during practice, good time off? Need to flip a switch and turn on the home ice advantage? Has break been good for team? Back to rule change discussion (coach doesn’t like no-touch icing). Players showing enough respect for each other? Talks about equipment in today’s game. Bryan Little’s development.
Winnipeg Free Press: NHL GMs examine lack of power plays. The Jets sit 29th in the league in power play opportunities so they understand more than most the lack of penalty calls this season.
Affiliate news – St. John’s IceCaps:
TSN: Haddad scores winning goal, Bulldogs double IceCaps. The Newfoundland crowd cheered for the opposition goal scorer as Robert Slaney, a local, scored his first AHL goal.
Next opponent news – Dallas Stars:
Dallas Morning News: Bachman may be in goal for Stars first visit since 1996. While the Stars might be one of the hottest teams in the league, the key stat that Jets fans can live with….the Stars are 1-9-2 in 2nd game of back-to-back.
ESPN Dallas: Lehtonen’s second straight shutout leads Stars past Wild, 1-0. Looks like the Jets might be dodging a bullet as the former longtime (played 5 seasons) member of the Atlanta Thrashers organization is expected to get the night off in Winnipeg.

The app is essentially the Winnipeg Jets official website with the visual interface to allow for use on a mobile device. The ability to look quickly at the schedule, statistics, photos or videos will now be readily available at your fingertips. Updates to the app will be made continuously, some yet to be available features are; Ticketmaster integration, JetsGear and the ability to order concessions from your seat at MTS Centre. While the app already has the necessary functions, it has potential to do much more.

Coach Noel: Unlikely break in March been good for team. Buff will be a player. Talking about Stars team. Eric Fehr on the GST line. Rolling 4 lines. More talk about Stars players. Rising to the occasion. Reflections on last week’s road losses. Bogosian will likely be a player for Friday.
NHL.com: Back in action. With all this time off between games it feels like ages since we have last seen fans pack the MTS Centre. My guess for tonight's 50/50 is approximately $44,560.00. Give us your guess as to what the winner of the 50/50 will receive and whomever is closest will win an IC Touque. (Send us a tweet @illegalcurve or you can add your guess in the comments section on Illegalcurve.com in today's Afternoon News post).
CBC: Need to beat the Stars. A preview of tonight's action with some info tracking the race to get above the line for the playoffs.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets hungry for win against Stars. While the Jets have had time to heal, the teams around them have used the opportunity to put some distance between the Jets and the playoff line. Tonight is a must-win game against a Stars team that played last night in St. Paul.
TSN: Jets open up three-game homestand. Once again the Jets version of the energizer bunny (Ondrej Pavelec) gets the nod for Winnipeg, for the 6th consecutive game.
Winnipeg Free Press: Feeling the pane, but both OK. I did not realize that two girls were injured in the Big Buff blast that shattered the glass at the IcePlex yesterday. Nice of him to give them some Jets memorabilia.
Next opponent news – Dallas Stars:
Dallas Morning News: Scouting the enemy. It will be one angry Moose that the Stars will be facing tonight.
ESPN Dallas: Richard Bachman in goal tonight. The Jets won’t face the shutout man (Kari Lehtonen) but will face his backup as the Stars try to overcome their poor back-to-back record against Winnipeg.
