Roberto Luongo

There's been rumblings that Luongo is having some sort of personal problem behind the scenes in Vancouver. If Gillis were to declare him on the market (during the offseason), what would people be willing to offer? Not expecting a ton, but he's not going to be moved for peanuts either.

Just give us Subban and Gomez then go trade Price to replace Subban.

I want PK Subban on the Canucks.

His value is pretty low due to the longevity of his contract. Doesn't he also have a no trade clause?

Maybe Tampa would be a good fit?

Alright. Let's look at teams that need goaltending/don't have high-quality goaltending prospects.

Chicago
Columbus
Edmonton
New Jersey
Long Island
Toronto
Tampa Bay

Now, I don't think that Vancouver would trade Luongo to Chicago (rivals) or Edmonton (same conference), so take them off the list. Now lets look at non-starters for the other teams:

Columbus: Johansson, JMFJ, and the 1st OV. I don't know about Nash.
New Jersey: Kovy, Larsson, Henrique.
Long Island: Tavares, Hamonic, Streit.
Tampa bay: Stamkos, Hedman, Connolly, 1st rounder.
Toronto: Kessel, Phaneuf, Grabovski, Gardiner.

In my humble, albeit uninformed, opinion, take a young second-line forward or middle pairing defenseman that isn't on that list and maybe a pick. I really don't know.

What's your source?
It seems the goaltending duo of Luongo and Schneider have been great together and have provided Vancouver with no drop off in performance when either is in net.

To be honest, Vancouver's goaltending is the main reason we haven't dropped further than 2nd in the West lately. Our offense has been animic and our defensive coverage very poor.

Take the islanders out. They are STACKED with great goalie prospects. And nabakov is pretty decent. Not to mention dipietro is still under his giant worthless contract.

If the Islanders don't have great goaltending prospects the Penguins don't have any good centers.

Leafs are out. We dont need Luongo, and he's not American. Burke hates long contracts.

yea but if you got Luongo, you would have to sign a goalie to play in the playoffs also, so i think his value is low

Uh....

Anyway.

If Luongo was available I'd definitely be interested. What does vancouver need?

Are you saying that if Luongo were to be traded these would be the costs?

I think that's the players he'd be interested in/he feels equate to the value of Bobby Louuuuuu

Unless he really thinks Kovalchuck, Henrique, and Larsson are going to Vancouvrr for Luongo
