I don't want to win this one, that is all. Let's get that 1st overall....and then trade it....

Will be rooting for a well played loss. As for trading the first pick, we'll see. Right now I'm for keeping it.

No thanks, that never got us anywhere, except right here.

Go Oilers

Agreed.

Hoping for a well-played and high scoring loss

That's about the best you can ask for...

I would be fine with a OT or SO win.

It doesn't matter if we finish No. 30 and lose the lottery. What is meant to be will happen to us. Therefore, I am going to hope for a win no matter what. I'll deal with the results later once the season ends.

That said, I don't think we will win tonight because given both teams are bad, the edge goes to the home team for the win, and Edmonton is the home team. I'll still cheer for a win, though.

I wrote a really snarky post just now about tonight's game. After looking at it for a while, I felt sympathy for this team and the entire fanbase, and erased it. No need to just keep piling it on.

I'm in for the OT or SO win. No regulation win! You watch, we'll play our best game of the year and beat the Oil 5 - 0.

Every other year I've said "trade the pick". But this year we can get THE best pick, so I say keep it as a downpayment on 2013-14. First picks don't (and shouldn't) come around too often.

Agree, we all know the situation... I want the Jackets to win this thing and think they will, the CBJ are better than the Oil regardless of the standings..

That said, if we don't win it's nice to be in the running for a projected very good hockey player, perhaps a franchise building hockey player.

I hope we lose but in a new way, like a puck going in from the side of the net or one stuck in the pads from warm ups falling out.

Imagine the horror if the Oil get THREE THREE THREE first overall picks in a row.

We're due.

From PuckRakers:

Players don't look at things the same way fans do:

The Blue Jackets (22-40-7, 51 points) said they have something tangible for which to play: Catching the Oilers (26-36-7, 59 points) and avoiding a 30th-place finish. Edmonton and Columbus have 13 games remaining.
*
“We’re trying to catch Edmonton,” defenseman Jack Johnson said. “That’s the way it is, and tonight is a 4-point game. It would be very good to catch them. I think we have two games left against them. No one in here wants to finish last. It means more to us to catch them than to spoil other teams’ seasons.”

I'm not surprised, and I bet you aren't either, Pete. Professional athletes are not wired to project and accept "lose". Any player who would be content to lose out for the first pick is a player I don't want wearing a CBJ uni.

Having players wanting to win is good. Fans not being upset if they lose and actually hoping that they do lose is not bad, imo. 29th or 30th still is bad. I'm hoping for 30th & a first overall pick.

Whoa! Rimer got a new eyeglass prescription! I was wondering if he's been needing one lately. If he missed any more calls, the league would try to recruit him to wear stripes and an orange armband!

Sanford is failing for Nail. His teammates are not lol.

And that white stick someone has for us (I already forgot his number) is weird looking.
