I don't really hate any other teams right now. It's hard to care about rivalries when your favourite team has been this bad for so long.
Though since joining HFBoards, I can conclude that Vancouver and Boston fans are my least liked. Though many of my fellow Leafs fans are all kinds of horrible as well.
I think it's safe to say most Bruins fans hate Buffalo too after the last few years, and I think they hate the Bruins as well. The Senators are the only team in the Northeast that most Bruins fans don't hate, and, even though you listed Boston as a team for Ottawa, I think it's more lumped into everybody having to hate the Champion.
Yeah, the Bruins and Sabres had a big rivalry back in the day. I think there has been a decent rivalry between the Leafs and Sabres too
That's debateable...During the 06 and 07 playoffs, I learned to have a healthy hatred of the Sabres and I'm sure their fans felt the same way.
Rivalries are born from playoff hatred.
As for Ottawa hating Boston. Simply not true. In fact, I think Sens and Bruins fans probably get along the best because of our mutual hatred of Toronto and Montreal. I spend a lot of time in Boston and when I'm donning Sens gear, most Bruins fans come up to me to chat about hockey. My friend who wears a Habs hat gets booed and yelled at.
I don't know too many Sens fans who hate the Bruins as vociferously as they do the Leafs and Habs. It's hard for us to hate them because they have Chara and Kelly and Chiarelli too.
I agree with the bolded highlight. That could change this year if the Bruins and Sens stay in the 2 and 7 spots and meet in the playoffs.
Buffalo is kind of the only team in the division that everyone doesn't hate.
Ottawa hates Toronto, Montreal, Boston
Montreal hates Boston, Toronto, Ottawa
Toronto hates Montreal, Boston, Ottawa
Boston hates Montreal, Toronto, Lola at Ottawa
From a Bruins fan perspective I definitely hate Buffalo.
I would say in this order.
Montreal
Buffalo
Toronto
Ottawa, (but lets see what the playoffs could possibly bring first) could push ya up one notch.
Leafs/Senators has become a bigger rivalry than Leafs/Habs, IMHO. I think half the reason Leafs & Ducks fans seem to get along so well (aside from the 15 trades that happen between the two each season) is the extent to which Leafs fans enjoyed watching the Ducks spank the Sens in the '07 SCF.
Leafs/Habs is more of a historical rivalry built on familiarity. They're like two crabby old men who never really liked one another but still stop and chat whenever they meet and see how the other is doing.
Oh, and for the record, nobody in Toronto thinks of Vancouver as a rival.
Sorry Canucks fans. It's true.
You apologize as if we thought that. Different conferences + The Leafs haven't won since 2003 or something.
We just don't like you, there's a difference. The last time our teams played I believe the Leafs board went through 3 GDTs complaining about the Canucks so I believe the dislike is mutual.
Hamilton-Toronto, and Quebec-Montreal would be great rivalries.
Not to mention Ott-Tor Tor-Mtl Ott-Buf Tor-Buf Buf-Bos Bos-Htf Htf-Mtl Mtl-Bos all are (or were for the Hartford ones) rivalries most of which got pretty intense at least one time
