I miss the good ol' days of Age of Empires 2, I played that game like it was my job.
If you're not into online competition, don't even bother with BF3, the single player is not it's strength.

Not sure why you say that, there are tons of games that are not FPS. Of course if you're into real time strategy you won't find much of that on the Xbox 360, though Halo Wars was an awesome RTS for Xbox 360.

Xbox is really about the shooters. Don't know too many adventure or action games on that console. But I do have it and any of you feel free to pm me your gamer tag and I'll add you.

Ps3 has the good ones. God of war, infamous, uncharted. Great action adventure games that are just too good for its own good.

What exactly is an "adventure" game?

I feel like an outcast when it comes to video game playing today.

I like sports games alot and shooters from time to time.
GTA is really the only one I like in terms of shooters.

In modern context, an adventure game is something like an LA Noire.

They're easy. Here, I'll let you in on some of my moves:

fkn tryhards (my personal favorite)
uninstall imo
crap team
bg

Guaranteed win. Every time.

I don't know why developers clutter up the GUI with guns and explosions and ****, but it is what it is.

I guess I should be more specific. I'm not looking so much for examples of adventure games, I'm asking about the genre itself. What makes an adventure game and adventure game? I mean technically speaking most games take you on an "adventure" don't they?

If you want to REALLY wrack your brain, try and figure out what an RPG is.

Basically an adventure game is best defined as a story driven exploration and a lot of times puzzle solving game.

The 'fun' of the game isn't derived from more active input like in an Action-adventure or most any other game.

Yeah that's kind of what I figured, games these days span multiple genres that it's pretty hard to categorize them under one label. One could call Bioshock a shooter and technically be correct but they would be doing the game a grave injustice. Mass Effect is a FPS, a 3rd person adventure and an RPG that is intertwined with a duck and cover system. Speaking of which, Mass Effect and Bioshock are by far two of the best games you can play on the Xbox 360 IMO!

If you like Fable you should consider trying Mass Effect trilogy or Fallout 3.

Assassin's creed was great. Then they added multi player and createdthe biggest mind **** ever. You mean I can run around and hunt someone down, while someone is hunting me down? Too good

Speaking of Fallout, just got New Vegas last week. I can't stop playing. Played for 6-7 hours straight the other day... I think I have a problem.

14. Went a bit wild. My wife has a bunch too. We usually do that for anniversaries instead of flowers and such. Just the 1 for you?

Yup, just the one. Its funny how it works with couples sometimes, my wife and I have friends who are a couple and they sound like you guys. They have each others names, the kids names, important dates etc, as well as the more typical stuff, I couldn't hazard a guess at how many they have. Our kids are fascinated, my son just stares at the husband taking it all in if he is wearing a tank top. Great people and it totally suits them.

I have my wife's name on my ring finger and kids names with dob's underneath. My kids love them and plan for their firsts. I just got captain America's shield on my elbow and my son loves it.

I would be my son's hero too, if I was to that, great iconic choice.

I find that I identify the people on the board by their avatars, and you had that older guy with the mustache for so long, I didn't recognise it and always pictured that as your appearance. I always picture down under by that goofy picture of the guy with the gun to his head! I was so surprised to learn you were a police officer and so young.

One reason I hate my generic avatar, how long do I have to be around before I can change it?

I'm 30 now. Not so young anymore. I'm not sure about the avatar. I tend to be in trouble a bit around here. Lol. That's why I have no avatar at the moment.
