Bishop can't move laterally very well, he's been good but I have noticed he does not get across the crease with any type of NHL speed.

That's a very good point, on the positive side of things he does join the rush quite a bit and it was good to see him at least get the scoring chance.

One more thing.

As much as I love Klink, the guy isn't getting any more points playing with Turris/Alfie than any of our other failed experiments at that position. We really need more point producers on this team to become a true cup contending team.

Seemed to have decent lateral movement on that first period save..

This roster is sprinkled with bottom six players and grinders situated in roles they aren't accustomed to. Hopefully next season with the additions of Zbad and Silfverberg our roster will be more well rounded

I kind of get the feeling that we'll see Butler in the lineup on Friday.

This is why I think Silfverberg should get a look sometime in the remaining games before the playoffs. I like what Klink has done, but maybe Silf could give that line more of a spark, who knows? You could make the argument that he may not be 100% NHL ready but then again, he's probably more polished than Klink (SEL MVP), and could be the boost we need up front. Let Klink take Daugavins spot, and throw Silf on the second line. I like it, any takers?

Bishop was very solid when he had to be, kept us in the game and did his part.

I only recall one person hating on Gilroy apart from me since he was traded. I don't see this game as a startling revelation. This is an average game for him.

Murray should have went for Campoli. Plain and simple.

personally, i think murray should have acquired brian lee. He's a guy that would fit well in our system.

puck possession? nope that isnt brian lee. Also gives us help on the other pp unit

Gilroy is getting chances and doesnt look bad in his own end. Sooner or later he will start to translate these chances

He looks mediocre in his own end. Can't contain forecheckers, somewhat weak along the boards, can't clear the slot, and not smart enough to be Karlsson (ie always in position to tie up a stick or force a turnover). Not fast enough and good enough with his hands to be able to get himself out of his mistakes either.

That said, I agree that he's certainly got room to improve. He reminds me of Sam Gagner earlier this year; you can see he's got the tools, he's just not got quite getting the results.

montreal with markov is a vastly different team than the team that played to last place in the east.

Gilroy will seriously raise blood pressure and heart levels in the playoffs. Don't even wanna think of that.

What's even worse is the only player we have to replace him is Carkner.

This is very true. Carey price is less busy with him there, and still makes big game changing saves.

Well, he sort of projected as a Corvo type (puck-carrying defenceman, not necessarily puck-moving defenceman) and that's what we've got.
