Tag team??

So if his hockey sense is so great does he just suck then? For as often as he joins the rush, rushes the puck, has great hockey sense and always in the right place... Why does he only have 1 assist here so far??? Why is he on his 3rd team in 3 years??

I dont even dislike the guy but he is what he is... A poor man's Joe Corvo without the shot on offense and an average at best defender...

Are you all that thick? Yes Gilroy missed it but he is not to blame for the loss.

If you want to blame someone, blame all the top 6 forwards.

Just one of those teams the Sens have trouble with.

I'm not sure what game you were watching.

We controlled the play in their end for entire shifts.

A shame that the jersey has not had as much success on the ice as off the ice!
Record is 2-6-2 with heritage jersey (other win was against Pittsburgh in December).

22 goals for, 38 goals against.

Sorry but he wasn't available. Brain Crampoli is one of our tank leaders.

You guys should win Saturday though, Kaberle will be likely back. That guy is a seasoned vet in the losing game and one of the key leaders of our tank nation. Gomez being injured brings question marks though.

Why was Emelin scratched? For tanking purposes?

The point is he does different things than Lee. He's not a great player, neither was Lee. But he can skate with the puck and he can jump up in the rush. Those are things you want if you are going to be a puck possession team. If he was a great player we would have had to use more than Lee to get him. He is a bottom pairing guy that fits our teams style better than Lee, it's not that complicated.
Put it this way, how many times did you see Lee jump up in the rush or skate the puck out of trouble?
I agree, Gilroy isn't putting up numbers, but he is playing the style that the team is looking for, and he's created some chances. Not bad for a bottom pairing guy.

You just knew Gilroy would be the new scapegoat when he was traded here..

however.. after missing his 3rd or something empty net I just feel sorry for the guy..

hope he can gain some confidence coming games.

Turris was good once again but nothing to show for it.. must be frustrating aswell.

We'll get them tomorrow!

I don't consider skating behind the net and trying to jam the puck in on a wraparound/short side wrist shot controlling anything. This is a garbage play that can be done just about every rush and virtually never results in a goal or even a decent scoring chance (e.g. on a rebound).

The game I saw the sens were constantly getting passes picked off / broken up, losing battles along the boards, and getting very little in the way of actual decent scoring chances.

Have a look at those first two power plays - the first one was down to 30 seconds before they managed to even enter the offensive zone and the second one wasn't much better.

I was watching the Avs/Sabres game.

Let me tell you what, the Sens didn't even show up for that one.

So far, Gilroy is in Alexandre Picard's league. Not as good as former Sens Corvo, Preissing, or Campoli.

Brian Lee is getting the benefit of the Stamkos effect.

Gilroy is crap, but that is the real story. Also the reason Gilroy was on pace for around 30 points.

Last I checked, Brian Lee was playing with Mike Commodore. Commodore vs Phillips. Phillips vs Commodore. hmmmm...

Picard actually scored for us.

Gilroy has yet to do so.

So Picard > Gilroy.

Gilroy really isn't good in any aspect of the game.

Maybe skating but...

- 3 of Lee's assists were secondary assists.
- 3 of Lee's assists were on Stamkos goals.
- 2 of Lee's assists came in the cluster.... that was the Bruins game.
- Are we really going to extrapolate based only on points? And 7 games?
- I can't believe we're arguing over our 6th defenceman this much.

Believe it or not your worst defenseman still contributes to wins and losses. 15 min a game is significant.

That's what gets me. We traded a 6th dman for a 6th dman. Neither are that good but you'd think Lee was a stud in the making.

Sens record with Gilroy: 3-2-2
Bolts record with Lee: 4-2-1

Murray not only missed the boat on this one... he sunk it on the way by, killing thousands. I'm beginning to doubt our playoff chances and my own personal worth.

Downgrading your team any any slot is never a good thing. Lee > Gilroy and it was a ******** move anyway you look at it
