Nice Article About Erat

http://www.nhl.com/ice/m_news.htm?id=622226

This could perhaps be embedded in one of the stickied threads (e.g. "Around the NHL...") but I thought it was a good read. Always been a big fan of Erat despite the various droughts and the worst pass in the history of the Preds (game 5 vs. Blackhawks in 2009). Just seems like a genuinely nice guy who works hard and always has a smile...even after getting his teeth knocked out in the Ducks series haha.

Erat was the first Preds jersey I ever owned.

Third mustard his rookie year, so old it had white numbers and letters not the blue that was worn in games.

He's just a solid consistent NHL player. I'm glad he's a Predator.

Reminds me of the time I was cleaning out an old bookcase and found the Tennessean's 1999 NHL Draft recap piece. (I'm glad I had the sense to scan it, because I have no idea where it went.) The one part that always stuck out to me was this:

Just goes to show how far he and hockey in Nashville have come.

I wish we would have held on to Martin Erak, too. That guy turned into a stud

Great article, though. Unfortunately for us, Erat is overpaid

One thing that I saw the other day, this is Erat's 8th season in a row of 49+ points.
