I could see that.. AR would be free then to sign a new deal legally as his contract with Nashville would be completed and he could go back there play for a few years then be unrestricted here...

I'm very open to Rads coming back but if he wants to play in Russia, just stay there unless he's going to commit to us for a little while. He doesn't need to view the Preds/NHL as his side-project.
Oddly enough, I don't care if Radulov comes back, fulfills his contract, and then goes back to Russia. It would be awesome to have him for the play offs.
I'd rather him not come if he's just going to leave again.
Only if we can get a pay-per-view of Weber, McG, and others pounding him into hotel mini-bar sized bottle of vodka. Then I would pay for that show, burn it to DVD and watch it OVER and OVER and OVER again.
A handshake agreement is nothing. There are ways out of a NHL contract as well ... see Bergfors. At the time he left, there was no agreement in place between the KHL and NHL governing the transfer of players or preventing poaching.
The only differences between now and 2008 are that Ufa had clear warning that Radulov was preparing to run and there are agreements in place between the leagues now. I can't fault Ufa for exercising their rights to protect what they see as their player.
I do find it hilarious how many people were ranting how Radulov leaving with a year left was the most egregious thing ever but would now be perfectly content if he came back and did the same thing to Ufa. If it was wrong when he did it to us, it would be just as wrong if he did it to them.

Let's be clear: the "possible scenario" is purely speculation. It's no different than if I were to tweet "One possible scenario for Radulov is the KHL could put him on loan to the Predators, and then release him on April 30th allowing Ufa to retain his rights."
Both are possible, but neither are based on much of anything
edit: actually I guess my scenario may not be possible, but you all get the idea
I dont see it that way... I see it as him finally righting the wrong he did to us. I have zero symapthy for Ufa...

If getting rads for only 2/3 months lands us a cup or at very least convinces Suter/Weber to lock up, I could care less what he does after the contract expires.

But why give Rads that satisfaction. This organization has been bent over by this guy plenty. The team we have now has been kicking ass in the win column. Sure, I'd love to add him (though it is at a risk of imploding a locker room), but not to be continuously used by the guy.
The sad thing is, I could see Rads burning his ELC and going back to Russia next year, playing out until he is UFA and coming back to the NHL after that. Granted, I think the NHL would suspend him if he leaves next year, but in all seriousness I don't trust him in any way possible.
And those tweets was a conversation of two dudes just throwing out anything to keep it a conversation...
If Medvedev would like to keep him there. He would keep him with no such ******** needed. He is President of the KHL, he can do whatever he wants, he runs the show. If he would like Rada to come play for SKA he would just make sure such transfer happens. Simple as that.
Frankly, that scenario is inconsistent and has no logic. Why???
If he bolts with been RFA with us, no Olympics for him. And KHL will circumvent the current agreement with NHL.
It is a WAR after that....
I think when the CBA negotiations are done, the NHL will agree to let its players play in the Olympics. Either way, guys like Ovechkin have said they are playing in the Olympics no matter what the NHL says. I don't see Sochi 2014 being a hurdle here.
If Radulov is fulfill the last year of his contract with Nashville, and then becomes RFA, it is perfectly legal for him to go back to the KHL. The agreement only covers players under contract. RFA players are allowed to sign wherever.
