Everyone kept saying wouldn't happen, well **** it! There's 2 x-factors here as well. Merriman being healthy, and a breakout season for A. Carrington, which is certainly possible. I'd be ok with Kelsay though. Hated him at LB.
Go Bills! Stigma removed. Thank you very much, Mario. He must see good things here.
Oh ya, time to switch the rhetoric to: he'll be hurt anyways or that contract will come back to haunt them. LOLZ
Fitz was playing through a rib injury for the second half of the season (which was quietly kept under wraps), which may partially explain his drop off in production.
The biggest problem the Bills had last year was depth. When injuries started to hit, the depth simply wasn't there to cover for it and it showed down the stretch. If the Bills can stay healthy, they will be right up there.
No, his play dropped off cause everyone else got hurt!

Kelsay is old and slow, he is going to be the goat of that D-Line. Get Schobel outta retirement, doesn't he still actually have a contract?
Wouldn't bank on merriman being healthy, or atleast staying that way.
Of course, McGee will probably get hurt 2 games in and Williams/McKelvin will have to play there...
And then on offense: Fitzpatrick-Jackson-Spiller-Johnson-Nelson-Chandler
LT-Levitre-Wood-Urbik (RFA)-Pears
(and that's an O-line that gave up the fewest sacks in the league).
There's real hope in Bills land right now.
Florence, McKelvin, McGee and Kelsay gotta go. Too slow or constantly getting beat are these guys problems. Or in McGee's case he's always injured. Wanna see more of that Aaron Williams guy.
Part of the low sack total was because of Fitz, the guy gets rid of the ball fast. It's a weakness of his at times, the other big one is he thinks he can make any throw. He's no brett Favre and he's gotta quit being such the gambler. Favre had strength, Fitz lacks that and accuracy. He can throw some beautiful balls in some tight spaces but he also gives them back.
Is Wood even gunna be ready coming off that injury?
Would love to see Manningham come to them. Would be the perfect compliment to Stephanie because he's fast and can run the deep ball, something Johnson really doesn't do. Having these 2 speedsters would give Nelson and Chandler some open field to create.
We have the best defense in the division, and the 2nd best offense.... I think the goal is the division.
You're officially banned from the Sabres board
So unbelievably excited right now..... This is insane.
Someone is a little naive. The B team is still in NE last I checked.
The division is weak outside of NE's offense, not sure these stats mean much.
Wildcard is possible but even so one guy isn't going to change an entire teams fate. He may add some sacks but he's not playing offense and the times a sack doesn't happen that secondary is pathetic. Plus he IS coming off an injury, health is the key.
Peppers is much better vs Run and can drop back into pass D
First point is relevant, second one isn't when both guys are being paid to get to the QB. If it's a crucial passing down and either one is dropping back in coverage something is wrong mentally with that d-coordinator.
Williams is still decent against the run. But really, with Dareus/Williams in the inside, and Kelsay (who's only good against the run) on the other side, not too worried. Just occupy a blocker and let Barnett/Sheppard/Byrd make the stops.

Peppers has fallen into coverage at times against big TE's and it has been effective
Of course its not on crucial downs but it works well to drop him occasionally on 1st or 2nd down
Also Peppers can play DT as well as he can DE (Just as Williams showed solid at OLB in 3-4)

Unsold American. Byrd is good for 5+ picks. But Kelsay is SLOW, someone call Aaron Schobel and tell him the Bills are trying to win, LOL

Funny you say that...Drayton Florence had tweeted that he talked to Schobel and Aaron is thinking about coming out of retirement for one last season...could you imagine Schobel back?!!The player with the most career sacks of Tom Brady on the same Dline rotation a Marcell Dareus, Kyle Williams, Shawne Merriman and now Mario *** Williams?!?!
I love how prior to FA starts, Mario is considered a game breaker, a top 3 DE (which he is, he is #2 after Peppers) and just an absolute stud, but when he doesn't sign with your team, all of a sudden he is injury prone, "overrated" and not a difference maker
The funny thing is, next FA period a new player will become the highest paid Def. Player in NFL history so the overpaid BS is just a lame excuse...every NFL team wishes they signed Mario Williams, and it just feels so great knowing he is a Buffalo Bill.
Also, Mario is not strictly about the $, he is not a flashy guy, he is an outdoors man and loves hunting, snowmobiling etc....Jim Kelly actually played a big part in recruiting him as they are both avid hunters...Mario really enjoyed the area and this should tell all the ignorant haters that WNY really is a great place to live and raise a family, and if you still want to badmouth the area, it's obvious your just an insecure TOOL.Just remember, several other teams would have paid Mario this much, he wanted to be here and that shows this team is on the rise.

GO BILLS!
One last season??? It's not like he's that old. Never understood why he retired, i'm sure the Bills would have released him and he could have signed with like Houston. He was fed up with losing. You gotta wonder though how productive he would be, certainly out of game shape. Whats his contract look like anyway? Isn't it voided if he retires?
Unsold on Merriman, just don't see him staying healthy. And I do worry about Super Mario's health a bit.
Doubt Schobel has anything left in the tank anyways. He hasn't played since 2009 and will be 35 this fall. Wouldn't be anything more than a situational guy at best--and we have Merriman for that. Who at least has played football since 2009.
(Granted, Schobel did put up 10 sacks that last season...)

Hardy har har....in that time frame how many games has Merriman played, like 8?
Call me a negative nancy but I bet Merriman gets hurt again in his final contract year. Not sure he's much of a loss either. When he played last fall he wasnt a notice when on the field.

Oh I'm not expecting much out of Merriman either, just that he's a better choice than a long retired Schobel.
