Nope. Not true at all really.

Them against St. Louis or Vancouver is ideal in terms of trying to avoid top seeds later on if they nab the division.
yeah not impossible... I don't know, personally, I'd rather play Stars in the first round then almost any other team. I think the Sharks match up with them well.

Great game by Niemi. I'm on his case when he has bad games but tonight he did make those saves that keep the team in the game. Well deserved first star. Also, Braun was great, he's like last year's Demers, and that said, Demers is also becoming more and more like last year's Demers. He's still not at that level or at the one Braun's playing right now, but he's headed back in the right direction. And he still has the hit of the year on Erik Cole. So I'm happy with the way both are going and playing. Sharks win !

LET'S GO SHAAA-AAARKS ! *Sharkie drums*

Stars must lose to Hawks. If Hawks need to lose it can be against someone else.

I think the fourth is those that know he's playing under his capabilities and can be better but he's still not at fault for every damn goal against. Some of them, sure. Not all of them and certainly not Hornqvist's goal.

Justin Braun as had 2 straight amazing games. He's going to score on one of those shots one day We don't need Colin White. Wait Colin who?

The Sharks need the 3rd or the 6th seed because it means they avoid Blues, Nucks, Detroit, and Nashville. The 6th seed means they'll face Dallas or Phoenix which might give them the best chance to advance. The 3rd seed means there's a good chance they'll face the Hawks but at least they get home ice for a round.

Here's our dilemma:

St. Louis has pretty much locked up the #1 seed, and Vancouver the 2nd seed. Detroit and Nashville will more than likely be the 4th and 5th seeds (whichever order), and Chicago will probably be the 6th seed.

So, we need to get to the 3rd seed and play Chicago, or try desperately to get the 6th seed and play Dallas.

The latter option sounds preferable (I know, shocking eh?), but getting home ice advantage would be frickin' sweet.

IF we get the 3rd seed, there's no John Scott (who sucks), so we can hit them as hard as we can instead of *****footing.

Love how this team plays

a) without Colin White
b) with Marty Havlat in the lineup
c) with Thornton and Clowe in beast mode
d) with Niemi actually playing like we all know he can

This is the kind of all-around effort they've been missing over the last few weeks. If they can keep this up they'll make the playoffs, maybe even retake the division lead.

lets just start with a win vs the wings on saturday, which i do believe is VERY possible...kinda hope datsyuk is out...he'll play though, and its ok cuz JT owns him when they play each ohter, and im sure those of you who will be there want to see him play as long as our team teal gets the W eh

The ideal scenario is the Sharks taking the division and the Hawks falling to 7th or 8th. If that happens, that's about as good as it'll get for them going into the playoffs. They will get a Pacific division opponent with home ice and one of the top seeds will get a very tough matchup and if the Hawks manage to pull it off, will go to the other top seed while the Sharks get the lesser of two evils between whoever wins the 4/5 series between Detroit and Nashville. I'd like the Sharks chances with that second round matchup than against Vancouver.
