Doesn't sound like an excuse, just a caution against panicking.

I don't know the specifics, but if getting Avery back blocks this team from having Kreider up, so be it.

Avery was sent down for no reason and this skid is reminding me of the early season skid that stopped when Avery was called up.

If you don't think Kreider will look like a lost kid in the NHL, you're crazy.

"Bring up" the vet that actually won us a playoff series. This second life might light a fire under his a$$ and maybe he'll play at his optimum level.

Get Avery now.

Why isn't Wellman ALREADY playing on this team? He'd obviously be a better choice than Scott and maybe even Mitchell. No way Avery gets the call up before Wellman... just doesn't make sense. And is this all speculation, or is there proof that Arty is actually going to be out for an extended amount of time?

I like Sean Avery alot, but he's burned his bridges unfortunatly. There is not really a chance he will ever play in the NHL again, and especially not the Rangers.

Part of me thinks that both parties are desperate.

Avery isn't making money reviewing reality shows on Bravo. He knows what butters his bread and the Rangers are at a loss, Wellman? Who the F***is Wellman?!?!?!?

I think the stars of desperation might align. I've always been an Avery mark, so it might be wishful thinking, but with a clear head I can honestly say that Avery replacing Arty is the best move this team can make.

The problem is, that Avery isn't depending on hockey. He owns a resturant, and has various fashion jobs too, as well as having been smart with his money earlier in his career.

Wellman is a tweener top 6 NHL-er, kinda like Zuccarello, who got traded here from the Wild in the EC deal.

Still, Avery won't get called up because.
1) He's been disrespecting the managment. Idk the details, and if it were justifed, but it still holds true.
2) He is rusty for not having played a game in over a month. Since the AHL clear day, he hasn't been practicing with the team either.

They're not calling Avery up. The organization basically told Avery peace out so he wouldn't keep being a cancer in Hartford.

He's done.

AA was seen after game on Saturday without a sling. Gross reported that. I'm not sure if someone else had that here yesterday.

Sean will need to break in a new pair skates. He threw his skates into the Hudson River. Sean didn't realize the Hudson threw them back at him. Sean Avery? Ha Ha.

Looks like Anisimov will not play tonight. Looks like Scott, Stralman, Woywitka the other scratches.

Great news that Anisimov is skating today. I wouldn't rush him unless he's 100%, but his addition in today's line up will give us even more offense against Marty. We definitely need it.

As for Avery, many forget that it seemed that he was "never" going to be called up again at the beginning of the season and injuries/desperation allowed his return to the lineup, despite him not playing for the AHL due to a "wrist injury".

If injuries continue to dessimate the lineup I would not be surprised if Torts hand was forced. Fans love Avery, regardless of how many people on this board openly bash him, the Garden crowd loves him. He energizes the team and fans, and most importantly, he doesn't take away from the team dynamic as most of the guys on the team genuinely enjoy being around him.

Now that Anisimov seems healthy, I don't think there is a need, but Avery as a stop gap, at least in my opinion, had Anisimov been injured for an extended period of time, was as unlikely as some make it out to be.

Stralman out again? I thought Bickell was the reason we've been losing lately.

In that one game and lately in a few games. Pittsburgh was like that all season. They won like 9 in a row without their best player (though Malkin is almost there) and best defenseman.

Torts is an idiot. Stralman is better than Bickel defensively and infinitely better offensively.

This is kind of the thing i've been talking about.

Making a decision you disagree with doesn't make the coach on an NHL franchise an idiot.

God this team has been so damn hush about injuries all season.

Eminger's the only player we got concrete information on in a timely manner.

All of the teams are hush hush about injuries. Bettman doesn't have an issue with it because he says its a contact sport and you don't want other teams going after the injury. Eminger got hurt a few games ago and played with the injury. Leg injury. He really hasn't been right since the shoulder injury in December.

As Rangerboy said, the NHL doesn't have a stringent disclosure policy by design. Vegas pressured NFL into the system they have now.

The NFL fines teams for failing to disclose injuries. Trying to hide an injury or not revealing the severity of the injury takes $ out of that owner's pocket. That injury report every Monday needs to be up to date and any changes in the player injury status needs to be reported.

I know, but I feel the Rangers specifically have been way more quiet then in previous years. Maybe it's because of their success?

For example, after we played Pittsburgh earlier in the year Jordan Staal had that knee-on-knee collision. No more then 30 minutes after the game they had disclosed his injury and had a timetable for his return, and it wasn't a DTD thing.

Meanwhile half of our players have essentially gone undiagnosed to the public, and I am reading the GDT to find out if they're skating; that's my source of injury information. What does a casual fan speculate on Sauer? The only tidbits I've read have been Tweets posted on this forum (because I don't use Twitter, I need to get on that) every couple of weeks. It's not pleasant watching 24/7 and seeing Giroux receive treatments and getting weekly in-depth updates while Sauer could be in Cambodia for all we know.

It's just kind of frustrating, but I understand why they do it.
