You know you have problems when your 6'6 defender is a better striker than your 35 million pound purchase
I swear. I knew the game was not over, but I figured it was, since you know... it's QPR!!
I don't even know what to say anymore. A whole revamping of the squad, and new manager needs to be welcomed for next season. No more excuses. This squad is just bad. Period.
Unlike you, I don't particularly feel Wilshere is the savior many might believe he is.
He's icing on a cake, not the key cog to the system. He helps out a lot, and he's a pretty good player who was getting better. But he isn't the spine of your side. Heck, when he's out, Song, Rosicky and others are easily capable of providing what he took away. Lucas isn't really a replaceable part. I don't feel Wilshere is what makes Arsenal go.
If he is, there's something wrong, and Barca would have come for him.
Lucas, has, and should have been their best player the past two or three seasons. He was easily their best until he got hurt this season. Their midfield is beyond disorganized without him.

wilshere is a huge huge part of our midfield... if we had a healthy team the entire year we would be competing for a title
and even if barca did come asking "which im sure they did" wilshere is not going anywhere... he is a gooner for life

We'd never have lost this match under Benitez, or last season under Kenny with the squad that was in place then. That's a fact. Buying mid-table players is obviously not the solution. Breeds a mid-table mentality.

Here's the thing. Adam was poor, but off the pitch.
Skrtel's a Rafa buy, and he's mediocre without Agger it seems. Back line is leaking like crazy without him.
They're still a bunch of players who are better than what QPR fielded, and they gave up. Rafa isn't the answer, and Kenny isn't completely at fault.
Getting a Cup double would be sufficient consolation, but God, this squad is so horrendously inconsistent this season and has shown some of their worst League form in years. I had to refrain from flinging my keyboard across the room when they gave up the third goal.
The back line has been absolutely pitiful without Agger, and don't get me started on how useless Carragher has been as of late.

Bollocks. You're talking nonsense. While I understand the anger, Kenny deserves more than one season. Having a managerial merry-go-round is not going to help this club.
Best approach is to invest in the team (meaning proven quality off the continent), then see how next season goes with Kenny and come to a determination at the end of it. Having a managerial carousel will hurt this club more than it helps. Also a forced retirement or benching of Carragher is in order. Sorry for him but it's time. Can't count how many points we dropped with him on the pitch at the middle of our allowing goals. If Agger can't play, then Coates should play every match and get some experience, he's quality but is an extremely raw talent. I can't think of many CB's who could put in a goal like his today, it was ridiculous.
My comment on Rafa was merely that any of his teams would not have done this. Bringing him back would either lead to the issue we have now, or succeed and we'd still be unable to move forward. I waver on the issue of Rafa being our manager again at any point, I don't really know to be honest.
I do know that we're in this position because the players who were brought in by the Kenny/Comolli team, some of whom are of good quality, have a mid-table mentality. Mid-table mentality breeds mid-table results and that mentality is part of all the players bought besides Suarez and Bellamy. Enrique has been a good player for us, but the ******** it when things get tough mentality showed up yesterday when "defending" that third goal. The constant blowing of unbelievable scoring chances is part of that as well, we've had tons of matches this season where we should have scored three or four goals in the first 30 minutes because we were playing so well, but came out of that period with none and dropped points later. I'm also sure I've never been more depressed after a match in my life so this plays a part in the long post.
Moral of the story
Sell: Adam, Carroll, Kuyt, Maxi's obviously going as well
Buy: 20-30m striker not named Darren Bent, no more mid-table mentality at that position. Need a striker who is used to getting regular service rather than somebody who is used to receiving a few chances to receive the ball high up the pitch in every match. 10-12m central midfielder who can play a possession game with Lucas when we're ahead (hopefully Veloso, likely not), and Junior Hoilett.
Promote: Raheem Sterling into first team, John Flanagan so Kelly can go back to center back like he's supposed to be
Retire: Carragher
Equally, if there's ever going to be a club that makes history by negotiating a full season without suffering any injuries at all to key players, past trends imply that that club is unlikely to be Arsenal.
Come on Spurs fans, where are you? Don't you want to participate in the frenzy of disproportionate reactions?

No, I'm too embarrassed by Spurs right now to join in.

No need to be embarrassed from where I sit. Last night could have been a lot worse-for a time there was the possibility of Chelsea ending the night one point behind Spurs. As it is, Tottenham ended the evening by increasing the gap to Roman's Ickle Darlings.
Granted, a win over Stoke would have been preferable, but Spurs are a team who've had a gruelling run of fixtures recently and on top of that they suffered a traumatic weekend, the impact of which should not be underestimated. I'd guess that last night was an occasion that they just needed to get out of the way and the fact that they've strengthened their hold on a CL place isn't a bad bonus.
Whilst parochial pride is all very well, it's possible that Spurs would benefit more in the long term from finishing fourth, behind Arsenal and ahead of Chelsea, than ending up third with Chelsea fourth. Don't forget: it wasn't Arsenal who gave Spurs a tough summer last year through remorseless attempts to entice away Modric.
