That ought to add one more competitor to land Patrick Roy... so it's not a given anymore that the Habs or the Avs will land him.

Here's a recent article about a financially strong Quebec company wanting to bring in a team.

Quote:
Quebecor Inc.’s (QBR.B-T36.090.160.45%) plan to revitalize its media division has little to do with newspapers and television stations and everything to do with the National Hockey League.

While the Montreal-based media, cable and telecommunication company’s plans to lure an NHL team back to Quebec City is hardly a secret, the extent of its ambitions were laid bare Thursday as the company released earnings that blew past analysts’ expectations.

I figured it would be PHX. I just figured the NHL would want a new arena in place before committing to move them there.

Hopefully Quebec City fans will tolerate Tippett (if he didn't speak even abysimal French) because it's one of the best coaches in the game today.

Quebec City won't care as much about the whole french connexion as much as Montreal. they'll just be happy they got a team back.

Hope this happens.

If they move the Coyotes to Q City, would they be in the East?

There could be some epic rivalries between the 5 eastern teams then.

I think Patrick Roy will be their first coach , but if by any chance they keep Tippett ( which is a great choice ) they could always hire an assistant coach that speaks french to work with with him behind the bench. that way the media and general population would be happy .
