the players have given up on each other

they dont believe they are winners plain and simple. the core has failed all too much in the past and that has ruined any belief they can get it done. the locker room is stale and doug has failed time and time again to realize this by putting way to much faith in a team that has the warning signs for years that this isnt a core of winners. time for a complete shake up

That's not the way they looked the two games before that... and I'm sure Murray, Braun and company are aware of the atrocious game they've played, and that Vlasic will never give up on the trailer on a breakaway ever anymore, learning from your mistakes, part of the development process of this young D-man who's still not in his prime.

The players don't stick up for eachother. They don't care about one another. They are the biggest bunch of pansies I have seen in teal... ever.

This team lacks toughness, heart, grit, desire, and passion. They are losers of the worse type.

I hope this team gets flown the F up.

I get that you are angry. But this is ludicrous. Saying that the players have given up on each other then followed by we make the playoffs 6 years in a row? Even winning the President's cup. Not a sign of a team where players have given up on each other.

I really feel that DW made pretty good moves this off-season and then some good acquisitions close to the deadline. Losing Ginner was crappy but it is what it is. I think we are a better team (personnel wise) overall than this time last year.

The team has taken lot of strides in the last 2-3 weeks. Even though they lost yesterday they played better outside of the defensive lapses that they had. We will come around. I still expect us to make the playoffs this year. How far we make it there will depend entirely on what kind of a roll we are on at that time.

I do hope that we make coaching changes. Whether we bring in a more defensive minded head-coach or assistant coaches, it needs to be done.

I don't follow the Sharks that closely so I'm a bit surprised the season isn't going better for you guys (hope you make the playoffs though). I liked the offseason last year (especially Heatley for Burns). If you miss the playoffs this year what kind of changes need to be made? What trading pieces would legitimately be available? Just curious.

Wouldn't that make Vlasic hustle harder if he didn't think Nemo would make the stop?

They dont need a system, they have a system right now, it just ****ing sucks and the coaching staff is too incompetent to do anything about it.

Choke every year? Not even close to that. Anything can happen in the playoffs and each series should be close. Playoffs are full of the best teams in the league. The difference between wins/losses is so small that a bad bounce or missed call could turn a win into a loss. Its hard to win playoff games when the other team is desperate to win - its not like we're that much better than the rest of the league. I'm not expecting it to be easy and neither should you.

It's not the coaching. It's the players. They aren't heartless. They aren't gutless. They haven't given up on eachother.

They are failing to execute. Frankly, this team is just not as good as they seem on paper. Simple as that.

I'm tired of reading of how the Sharks are heartless or gutless when they lose, as if that's the only thing wrong with them. They just plain suck right now.

Personally I believe there has been too much movement on this club the past 2 and 3 seasons. The trade angle has been pretty awful. A trade here and there is one thing but simply, not always trading away strengths from the team in trying to bring in a 'hopeful strength'. Example, the Burns deal could have been worked in many different angles and one where, being the idea of D.W. was to dispose of Heatley, work him in a deal rather than the all the assets we used and the workings that went around in creating two deals with Minny. If the main goal was to try to attain Burns and too much happening in order to accomplish it, then no deal. Move on to the next plan. Look at what we just gave up for Galiardi and Winnik!!! On the free agent front, we let the likes of Wellwood walk, who was decent for us, and bring in Handzus at 2 years and no movement!?. Just one thing after the other. Too much changeover with hopes on the incomings that have not panned out. I personally would have still liked to see the likes of Michalek, Seto, McGinn and Wellwood on our squad and, the first three were from our system.

This right here. The execution sucked last night and the league is so close if you turn the puck over and play sloppy d, you will lose.
