LaBarbera Chat

From theahl.com...

He's got quite a pregame ritual, in the best goalie tradition.

I work on movements in practice, especially this year with new goalie coach Benoit Allaire. We do a lot of footwork and recovery ... the easiest way to stay agile is to work on it in practice.

Guess the Rangers had a goalie coach before this year

"Who do you owe for your huge success in the professional leagues?

Jason: Sam St. Laurent was the Rangers goalie coach when I was drafted and I worked with him for about six years. He pushed me and kept on me, and taught me how to be competitive and work hard in practice, just as hard as in a real game."

Too bad he didn't have any time for Blackburn!

He was part time goalie coach.

Labarbera...

really has turned into something. Wasn't he once regarded as an overweight, lazy player with his back to the wall in terms of getting an AHL chance? Somebody kicked his butt and he's looking pretty good for it.

Absolutely, LaBarbera couldn't stick in the AHL for a full season before last year.
