Hall wasn't as effective at centre. I'd be willing to try him at centre 5-10 games a year to see if he can make the transition, but nothing so far has suggested he will be better down the middle.

Can he play there? Sure, but I'll pass until he can be as effective as he is on the wing.

I'm praying he is alright.. Won't be surprised if he is out for the rest of the year with how serious concussions are right now..

Based on early comments from Renney and Eberle, the concussion doesn't sound too serious.

Let's hope this is the case.

If this was game 7 in Anaheim, Kari....i mean Hall wouldve went down the left wing and bombed a slapper after getting TKOd

maybe now non oilers fans (and some oilers fans as well) will realize that we DONT have much depth up front and have to draft Grigorenko. Galchenyuk got hurt again tonight (shoulder this time).
I don't think anyone is saying that it is a "clean hit." A clean hit would imply that a authorized style of hitting that a player could use on a nightly basis. That being said it is not a dirty hit either, Hall lost an edge which cause his body and head to lower to the point that Sarich's intended initial point of contact was no longer a viable option and there was no opportunity to abort the hit in time. Unfortunate circumstance led to Hall's injury, and defiantly not suspension worthy.

Damn, concussions especially for a player like Hall who puts himself in vulnerable positions pretty much every game is a really scary thing. I can't lie, i'm worried about his long term future.
I agree, but he didn't seem to make any effort to avoid the collision. maybe give Sarich a bit of blame?
regardless, just seems ot be more of an accident and bad luck than anything else.

at this point, better just sit him.

Hall plays a reckless game...concussions weren't a matter of 'if' it was simply a matter of time. Many posters (myself included) were saying this at the beginning of last season.

Hopefully it isn't serious.

The interview I saw had Renney saying that they're "following concussion protocol, and they'll know more in the morning". Was there somewhere else that he said, specifically, that Hall had a concussion?

God I hope Hall is alright. Shut him down for as long as needed. His health is more important than anything, let him be a 110% before coming back.

Hall really needs to learn to keep his balance. The guy goes from bull in a china shop to bambi on ice in a matter of seconds. Hopefully he improves that in the future.

Hall was knocked out cold. This is the time for the Oilers to take at least one thing away from MMA...Medical suspensions. Taylor should not take any kind of contact for 90 days. That's what happens if you get knocked out in a MMA fight, the commission suspends you for 90 days, and tells you not to have any contact during that time period.

He has just got to be more aware next time. He can't stop playing the way that has made him so effective.

Oilers better draft Grigo for insurance in case this has long term effect on Hall.

I still don't think he was knocked out "cold", at least not to what my understanding of "cold" is. Yes his arms were up, but he never stopped moving, was talking to the trainer immediately, and didn't look horrible skating off the ice. All I'm saying is I've seen guys in way worse shape after similar hits.

I'm hoping they take their time with him, but I think talking about sitting him out for 90 days without contact might be a little extreme without knowing the extent of his injury.

Taylor Hall's skating simply must get less reckless or he is going to be out of action completely by his mid 20s. He took some really bad hits back with Windsor because of his on ice style. I know he's aggressive - and that can be good...but unless his style improves he's going to end up with endless injury problems.

Well coming back to the octagon and getting pummelled into submission is different than coming back to a hockey game but yeah, they should proceed with extreme caution with Taylor no matter how much he pleads to play because we all know that he will.

I think Hall will take this a learning experience though. Each "injury" he's come back from, he's stronger and adapted his game. Hopefully he's not out for long.

Unfortunately, I just can't shake the thought that we will be having a lot of these injury reports for Hall over the course of his career as an Oiler. Today's hit was a bit of a fluke but with him playing a very reckless game, and with opposing teams focusing on him, I have trouble seeing him playing many 82 game seasons. Hope I'm wrong though.

I'm not about to let Sarich off the hook after the "hit" on Jones later in the game.
