-Blues Preview -

Written by: yours truly

The Blues will try to add a spark to the line-up Saturday night against Steven Stamkos and the Tampa Bay Lightning with newly signed first-round 14th overall draft pick Jaden Schwartz fresh out of Colorado College. Jaden will get the opportunity of a lifetime to lace up for his first NHL game with the St.Louis Blues after signing a three-year entry-level contract Tuesday, and cannot wait to see some action. Schwartz added. "It's been a dream of mine to play in the NHL and I'm excited to be able to do it as a St. Louis Blue, "The Blues are having a terrific season and I will do whatever they need me to do just to help out." To add even more to the intrigue, Jaden is starting the game on the 2nd line replacing speedster Andy McDonald who is out of the line-up with a shoulder injury suffered in Carolina. "McDonald is going to kind of be week to week, so we're going to evaluate it before we go on the road trip (next week) and see how it is," Hitchcock said. "It's legit. So, I'd say we're looking at week-to-week and let's go from there. We know we're going to get him back for the playoffs. We're very confident of that, so that's good news." Good news indeed for Blues fans, but meanwhile all eyes are Schwartz. May the Schwartz be with you, and Go Blues!

Thanks for the great GDT!

FINAANANANAAAALLLY. The Schwartz s with us. With like eleventy billion gallons worth of Midichlorian's. The Schwartz is so strong with this one.

Very excited to see how the team responds to his arrival and our recent 'slump'.

Does Schwartz hit the score sheet in his NHL debut? Do the Blues climb out of the recent funk they've been in? Did Grizzly Adams have a beard?

Blues need to stop turning the puckover in their end and quit the stupid penalties..... Blues win 2-1.

Does anyone know when the Sports Illustrated issue with the Blues feature will be out, or is it out already? I'd like to buy it before it's not on stands anymore.

There's a second Blues Inside Access premiering at 5 tonight, before the pregame.

I'm excited to see Schwartz play. Hopefully the Blues get a victory in his first NHL game.

Great GDT, however, as a superstitious person I feel if we don't win this game then I think Blueski/PogoElGato needs to be the official GDT maker.

That guess could prove to be on the high side. Of course, if Wilt Chamberlain could do it, you gotta ask yourself, why not Jaden Schwartz?

That's an easy one. While Jaden may have enough Schwartz to protect the universe, Wilt had that swag. You can't teach that swag, B.

Preferably NOT a Blues' leg! Maybe a frogleg smothered in buttersauce in a postgame winners' celebration for clinching (officially) the playoff spot!

I dont like his chances of getting on the score sheet, when langs is on Bergy's wing the line has very little offense and Berglund's production stops. Add that to schwartz not being acclimated to the game i dont see him getting any points. But I will be extremly happy if he does!

Where's Arnott? Is he injured? A healthy scratch? GDT oversight?

Arnott was given two games off for "maintenance" by Hitchcock. I believe this is the second of the two, so we should probably expect to see him back for the next game.
