Pardy vs. Woywitka

I really thought there was no possible way for the team to get worse at the 7th D position. Pardy has sure accepted the challenge though.

We've got 3 days to kill.

Woywitka was worse, because he was always in the line-up for some idiotic reason.

Pardy, at least, can't help being put in. Although Jo. Benn is a better option and still has potential.

Based on skill they're both garbage, but as LT said Woywitka hurt the team more due to Crawford's love affair with him.

Pardy is nowhere near as bad. I don't need to go into anymore detail because it really isn't even close

Did you watch the game last night? That's about as bad as a player gets.

I think they're equally as bad, Woywitka just was played so freaking much we saw him more. If Woywitka was getting scratched 3/4 of the games and playing 3rd pairing other games, it wouldn't be so bad. I think they're about equal in horribleness.

A full season without watching Woywitka in a Stars uniform has definitely undervalued your opinion of how bad he was.

He was by far the worst defenseman we've had since the lock out. Even Sydor was better than him.

(These next two/three days are going to be lonnnnnng ones on this board)

Pardys bad in the sense that he often fails to get in shooting lanes, is out of position and often gets caught not taking his man in the zone. Woywitka was all those things plus constantly turned it over, failed to clear it, muffed every shot he took and was 100% inept offensively.

Oh believe me, I remember how bad Woywitka was. I think the lack of exposure to Pardy is making some of you think he's considerably better than Woywitka when it's really pretty close.

Both are better options than Fistric.

This is sort of true, but I wouldn't wanna go to a playoff series against Chicago with Pardy-Woywitka in the 3rd pair..

Pardy at least gets some shots in and with a better luck he'd have a few goals this year so I go with Woywitka on this one.

But if we don't win the cup, I hope the Rangers win it with Jeffie W scoring in Game 7 overtime.

The real question is how does anyone pay 4 million for Pardy. He is an ahl d-man. The list of older 5-7 d-men available for half the price and are better is staggering

Fistric is a good bottom pairing D man.

Woywitka and Pardy aren't even decent 7th D men.

Pardys worse, but Woywitka played more, so it just seems like he was worse. Woywitka is a 'decent' (I use the term loosely) 7th defensemen as long as he isn't playing top 4 minutes. Pardy just seems awful no matter how little ice time he gets.

It'd be interesting to read Nieuwy's logic in bringing in Pardy.

I mean, he didn't even wait a day to bring him in; signed on July 1st.

Nieuwy obviously saw something in him last year, and I'd like to know what that was (and where it went).

Well I can somewhat understand what he saw in him, in the sense that he's not bad skill-wise. Hes a good skater, has decent puck control and a fairly hard shot. All of his problems are just position and IQ related, which I can understand JN not seeing with how little he played last year.

LOLWUT?!

In what universe is Jeff Woywitka or Adam Pardy EVER a better option than Fistric?

People are welcome to their opinions. But if that opinion is that Fistric is a worse defenseman than Pardy/Woywitka, you're either trolling or clueless. I've noticed that several people at DBD, including a few writers, share that same opinion. That really told me all that I need to know about that place.

I think it was related to getting Ryder. Both are from the same small town where everyone is likely family.

They're both horrible, but I'd say Pardy is slightly better. I'd rather have the lesser Benn in the line up over Pardy.

I'm not crazy about DBD either, but I'd really like to see where you saw that sentiment. I've never once heard that mentioned.
