Obviously the first period that we had was a good booster for us, and then when you do get a couple goals ahead, it’s maybe a little easier to play the rest of the game. It’s obviously definitely easier than chasing from behind. (on finishing 5-1 against Anaheim this season…) Every time you get points within the division, it’s big. If you look at the big picture, in the end we still have some division games that we have to take care of. There’s going to be big games down the stretch. We’ve just got to keep on going right now. (on holding a lead, and playing with confidence in front of Jonathan Quick…) Quickie has been there for us the whole time. The confidence we have in him is really high. We obviously take pride in playing good defensive hockey in front of him, and it’s been working for us."

Just kind of continued the same game that we had in the first and second. (on being paired with Willie Mitchell late in games, in a shutdown pair…) Guys have different strengths. That’s what he’s going with right now, and that’s it. We’ll see what happens in the next game. (on his pass on the first goal, by Alec Martinez…) Better shot by Marty though. He’s a real good player."

Hiller made a great glove save on Carter. Those things together, they didn’t seem to faze our bench. We just kept plugging along and knew that we were going to close it out. (on getting offensive contributions from the defensemen…) I think it has to do with turnovers in our neutral zone as well. We’re creating a lot off our neutral zone (play). Our defensemen are standing up, they’re getting more involved in the offense. It doesn’t matter who you are, if you’re Drew Doughty or Matt Greene, it doesn’t matter. If you get involved, you’re going to get opportunities, and they’ve been getting a lot of shots to the net."

I thought our second period was our best period, and we actually, on the score clock, we lost it. (on the offensive contributions from defensemen…) If you look at it from a goal-scoring standpoint, they’re in the top third in the league from defensemen scoring. So we expect them to do that. (on holding the third-period lead…) We were up 3-0 in the first period, and I didn’t think it was a 3-0 period. We played really well in the second, and I think when you do that, you can just play within yourself. What’s the difference? I’ve said it 100 times. It’s a 3-2 league, right? (on shutting down the last five minutes…) I don’t necessarily think we shut it down. The last two-and-a-half minutes, we did a really good job. But I think there was one shift there, when the big boys were out there from the other side, it was a highlight reel."

LET'S GO KINGS !!!

- UPCOMING SCHEDULE -

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

Why would you have expected them not to play him?

They still have a shot at that #4 seed.

I thought that the last time we played the Preds since it was the 1st of a back to back I believe. We played Quick. We won, but he gave up 4 as we won 5-4. Let's hope which ever goalie plays, they don't give up 4, because Rinne doesn't give up 5 very often!

Thing is its just as rare for quick to give up that many as well. It was Just a very strange game.

Still wondering why we played Quick last night

If we get in the playoffs, it's because we earned it. We have to win our games and our next 5 opponents are going to be tough.

Double duty for Drew Doughty today. He's playing power forward for the Houston Rockets today against the Clippers. Hopefully the ice will be fine.
