Just enjoy it.

We're still getting a top 10 pick.

While I do like beating Ottawa, with this little 2 game win streak we are now sitting at the 9th overall pick, and 4 points ahead of the 3rd overall pick. If we'd lost these 2 games, we'd be sitting at the 4th overall pick, and tied in points with the 3rd overall pick. I'm honestly really worried that all this failure will get us nothing but an 8th-9th or so overall pick, which would suck. A 3rd overall pick is very, very often a franchise player, while an 8th-9th overall pick is very often a scrub/mediocre player. I'm tired of cheering for an endlessly bad-to-mediocre team.

Tim Connolly is playing like someone who relishes playing for Carlyle.

The Leafs are starting to show signs of discipline in the defensive zone.

I thought a bit of frontier justice might have been called for after a blatant elbow on Kessel then Neill goaded Grabovski into a fight. Maybe later and not on Neill.

I'm not sure what provides greater entertainment: watching a Leaf game or watching the bipolar crowd?

Look at what a defensive system can do to the Leaf goaltending

Hughson and Simpson were particularly obnoxious tonight. They're really doing their job.

If you thought that was great entertainment tonight, you need to get out more

I thought it was almost as bad as the Flyer game.

  • Reimer looked brutal in the first 30 mins, but picked it up for the last half of the game
  • Great defensive game by the team, limiting scoring chances
  • Connolly had a good game
  • Kessel made stuff happen, as usual
  • Credit to Bozak for providing the screens on the PP, he seems to be about the only person doing that
  • Grabo... that fight pretty much sums up his play on the ice. He plays like he has a death wish
  • Any offense dies as soon as the puck touches Frattin's stick

Me too. Less exciting, but better chance at winning IMHO.

5 out of 8 games giving up 2 goals or less. 18/20 or 90% PK. Some good signs. Need to do it against good teams though.

As someone who was always either goaltending, playing D or as a defensive forward.....I like defense.

I have to say they were sagging the senators a lot tonight as well. Ottawa must be just above the Leafs on the pecking order.

Well if you want to tank, get rid of the tank general: Phil Kessel. Damn you, go away.

I like a good defensive game as well.

But the first two periods tonight and the Flyers game were brutal hockey for me.

No?
