Love beating Ottawa, even though that cuts into the chance of a higher pick.

It's naive to look at one game when there are 82 in the season.

It's naive to celebrate a hollow win, a meaningless win, a prohibitive win, when there are higher stakes in play.

It's not obtuse to point out that there is a forest beside those trees

It is obtuse when you take what he says out of context just to try and start an argument.

He was talking about the game. See? you still don't get it.

To claim that the team is directionless and has no good prospects is to be obtuse. To deny that they are the youngest team in the league and have just made a significant change of direction in their coaching is being obtuse. Prohibitive win? Higher stakes? Aren't you being just a bit of a drama queen?

The forest is composed of those trees, no?

No win is hollow.
This team is showing character, fight, skill, and a will to win.

The difference between picking 7th and 12th is irrelevant. Truly. Improving at this point could be saving us from picking the wrong guy.

Just enjoy.

I was happy that of all the Ottawa players to score on their own net it was Karlsson, because tonight Hughson, Simpson and Healy couldn't stop always saying how great a player he is. Plus it's always great hearing Alfredsson get booed in Ottawa by the Leafs fans.

It's not obtuse, he's just trying to fit in on these boards.

Hell, that's the game plan for some regulars!

I get some people looking at the draft pick position, but *****ing about the team winning games...how pathetic can you get? People are complaining about being mediocre because you finish 9th and worsen your pick at the draft....high draft picks are only meaningful to the future of a team when the team is simply bad and requires skill to get better. High draft picks do not salvage a team who has zero spirit, pride or motivation to try and win. If anyone feels the need to waste their breath over seeing your team work hard and win games, then maybe you should just find another team to cheer for and save yourself and others the trouble of having to hear you moan about it. Every team has their ups and downs, but it's those peaks and valleys that separate the good teams from the not so good teams.

I'm happy to see that team turning a corner and making noticeable improvements in their defense. The offense is slowly come around as well. The amount of penalty minutes was staggering but I found it enjoyable. I particularly tip my cap to Grabovski for jumping in and sticking up for his rookie teammate and newest linemate. The fact that Grabo jumped in on Neil of all players only reinforces his reputation of being an 'all heart' kind of guy.

Sucks to see Reimer lose yet another shutout so close to the close of the game but the wins are more important. I think these wins are important to the team's confidence so I won't complain when they happen.

If you are cheering for tanking, so be it... but if you have problem with other Leafs fan cheering a Leafs victory, you got some serious issues bud. Figure it out soon son.

And besides, as someone said, picking 7th or 12th won't make as much of a difference as the difference between picking 2nd and 7th. So, RELAX!

You dont get it. The context is being a leaf fan, and the poster asked what there was to complain about.

Obviously, if you've been paying attention, the script has been the same ... Lose when it matters, win when it doesn't.

If you want to accept that, go right ahead. I don't have to

The team showed no heart or character in losing 9 of 10 to drop themselves out of the playoffs.

Playing a good game last night does nothing to change that

How can you bear to cheer for such a team. Someone must be forcing you. Does someone have compromising pictures of you and a sheep?

If the Leafs put one into their own net would Healy ,Simpson and Hughson have such kind words? Sure Reims had some blunders but it didn't cost the game yet they were still on him.

Number of highlights in this game, but the crowd erupting at the no goal had me laughing quite a bit.

Hearing Alfie get booed in his home building makes me smile every single time, I love it. Can you imagine if the real Leaf fans who attend all our road games filled up the ACC for a game? We would easily rival the Bell Centre or MTS Centre for loudness no doubt.

I think we are starting to see the influence of Dave Farrish on Jake Gardiner, also subtle differences in Carlyle's all for 1 approach. Grabo stepping in for Ashton was a milestone for this team, give him a lot of cred for that. Nice to see this team stand up for each other.

Just out of curiosity how did the Karlsson slew-foot on Steckel get no attention?

Watching the TSN post-game interview on TSN.ca was awesome

Reimer seemed to really enjoy Grabo's tilt with Neil then joked about jumping into help if things got out of hand

I was proud with what I seen tonight. Playing with tenacity and pride. Love seeing this. Carlyle really looked passionate on the bench. I think he's going to get through to these guys.
