Carlyle's work behind the bench is really impressive, I like this. Leafs need to build on this win. But I don't think we have a chance to make the playoffs, so we should just lose and get a good draft pick.
Pretty sure I answered that in my original post. I'd rather see the team win some games and gain some confidence then cheer for them to get beat up on so they can draft a couple spots higher.
Hoping for a lottery pick is just as big a pipe dream as the playoffs IMO. Not happening.
I think this team has been so fragile that if they ended the season on the same note it might take more than the summer to get them to believe in themselves again. Yes they are professional althletes but once snakebitten it takes its toll. You can see how winning the past two games has increased their confidence. Each period they play well, each goal they score, each block, each hit and each fight are helping the players regain their form. It is much better that the team ends the season knowing they can trun things around than hoping they get one of the last places...
To claim that the team is directionless and has no good prospects is to be obtuse. To deny that they are the youngest team in the league and have just made a significant change of direction in their coaching is being obtuse. Prohibitive win? Higher stakes? Aren't you being just a bit of a drama queen?
I'm sorry but I'd rather see a blue chipper in our system then wining pointless games like these. Really can't understand why fans want the team in ninth..
You know, sometimes I think fans can get so caught up in the management and business aspect of the game they truly deprive themselves of the best part of being a fan. Why do you and so many others assume that cheering and enjoying when the team wins is even remotely related to wanting the team to finish 9th?
