I thought DeMo looked ok actually. He seems like he wants to make an impact and his shots are actually on net! He never hit the net before. Its a nice change.

Indeed. And not too many players will willing get in front of his shot. Probably take off a car door with that boomer.

Good win. Lucky win, but a good win. Had the game going on the laptop. Just finished five hours of Halo with a friend who has been deployed the past several months. It's always fun and it was nice to speak hockey with him again. He's a Dallas fan, but he roots for the Coyotes. Too bad that doesn't go the other way. lol

Any one see the picture on Facebook? For Tip's 400 wins? I don't think a photo of him smiling exists anywhere. lol

Ray Whitney's the freakin man. Played over 22 minutes, most of any forward. Always been a fan of his, and always wanted him on the Coyotes. When he signed I was like, "If only we got him when he was a bit younger, say... when he was 35." Naturally, every signing is met with some skepticism but there's no denying how invaluable this guy's been here.

I'm still wondering who it was that got injured last night. I caught the tail end of the radio saying someone wouldn't return, thought it was Vrby tell I coulda swore I heard his name called later. He did play 13:26, but Pyatt also got only 6:21.

Both Pyatt and Vrbata left early.

A win is a win is a win. Hopefully that's the boost they need to start playing 60 minutes. What's with all these horrible starts of late?

I was half watching the game on my laptop, but it sure looked like Eberle was way offside on the first goal. What was up with that?

He was definitely offsides, and by a lot. The refs blew the call, which seems to be happening a lot in the opposing team's favor lately. The Coyotes are long overdue for a break.

Offside - there is no 's' at the end.

You're getting to be as bad as McConnell with his extra 's' here and there, Pho.

Yet another game that starts with us down by two. It's embarrassing. This is a veteran team. Embarrassing.

I think offsides is an American thing. Drives me nuts too

They seem to be used interchangeably down here (not that that makes both of them correct). I'm guessing it's an extension of the "beside/besides" thing, but I really have no idea.

Does anyone else think that OEL was tripped/hooked on the first Oilers goal that caused the turnover.
No mention of it by anybody, just the offside issue.
Watch the goal. The turnover was caused by a foul that was not called.

"Offsides" rolls off better than "Offside"

Offsides is a nice smooth word, but Offside makes me feel like a ran into a wall at the end.

Agree. Missed a trip, and a guy offside by 2 feet.

And I don't get why Yandles Penelty shot was so criticized on here. I could tell what he was trying to do, and it was a good idea. The goalie had a massive 5 hole, and Yandle went to the right, and then cut back in to get him moving right, and opening the 5 hole even more, and he did. He just didn't put the shot where he needed to. It was a smart move tho.

I think he was criticized for going so slow, but given the ice conditions, I think it was a smart play.

McConnell also refers to "saves percentage" which is a little more understandable.

I hate to knitpick but.....well.........that's what I do on occasion.

I'm a usage nerd, so I appreciate the correction.

And by the way, it's nitpick.

Whitney is money on shootouts too. Not sure his exact stats are, but it must be something like 6 out of 9 attempts.

Seeing how we are giddy over the win and little else to talk about I'm just waiting for someone to use the word irregardless... I have a cannon of a grammatical shot- just give me the chance..

Irregardless of that, we got the win and that's all that matters right now.
