Of the teams fighting for the playoffs, we have to have the least sense of urgency.

But he'd have the chance to play with such Russian superstars as Ovechkin, Semin and Orlov.

If they each took one, they'd have both been wide open.

Remember when everyone was getting confident from wins over the likes of Toronto, NYI (OT), Carolina (OT), Tampa Bay (OT) and Montreal?

Yeah, good times.

Memories, sweet memories.

But why can't every team be as bad as Toronto?

He will only come if he's joining a winning team? That's absurd. The guy either wants to play in the best league in the world or he doesn't. Shouldn't matter whether it's for league leader or a cellar dweller.

Ovie didn't wait till we were a juggernaut to join up.

Maybe our roster isn't that good, but Hunter is easily the worst coach in the NHL. The team is so passive its ridiculous. Every time the puck touches their sticks in the d zone they just chip it to the other team. F'ing retard. Idc what Hunter did/was for the caps when he played, he's ruining them now and frankly he's just not a very smart or good coach. And the team isn't defensive. They are just passive. Never take chances and never look for offense. When Green had that chance on the PK I was shocked. First time he's done that all year.

12-2 in shots is embarrassing. Get the next goal or this thing's gonna fall apart real quick.

As just a fan of the game, they're easily the least entertaining club in the mix. Toronto under Carlyle is close but...they're done. Calgary out West is maybe close but I don't think they make it either. Winnipeg & Buffalo are both more interesting. Crisper with the puck and more cerebral (not a high hurdle).

A long offseason forcing some level of serious self-evaluation is probably for the best. I just hope they don't try to fast-track Backstrom back into the lineup. He should take all the time he needs.

The flipside on the Kuznetsov impact is there's a ton of room for quality scoring-line forwards at the moment so from a role/TOI standpoint it's pretty wide open if he really wants to come in and establish himself.

I didnt think Dale should have broken up 52 81. Orlov could have been burned like that in any pair. I am not sure any RD was going to bail him out.

Is it too late to un-fire Boudreau?

Half of us blamed BB. And now the other half blame Hunter. Myself I am starting to see its a 100% the players.

Yes, it's the players, but one of the two coaches got WAY more out of them. Which is exactly, to the tee, what I said was the case before they made the switch.

I totally agree. This team is not even an enjoyment to watch the way they are playing. Hell, I'd rather see a bunch of goons, at least that would make for some entertainment.

It is blatantly obvious that the Caps would have the division locked up right now if Boudreau were still on the bench. Say what you will about the guy, he knew how to get us to the playoffs.
