How that hit was not penalized was beyond me. Even if they weren't going to call the clear check to the head, I can't figure out why they didn't blow the whistle when Beyers was down and hurt for several seconds while the puck was pinned against the boards. Ref was right there...nuts. Somewhat fitting that he was the guy to make the pass that ended the game.

Big game tonight with a lot of injuries. Hopefully the colts can get it done on sportsnet.

Ekblad rookie of the year

I watched this kid play on the road and at home almost every game this year. Consistant play every game at such a young age. After xmas he started to rush a little deeper, with sucsess. Parents travel along way to watch and uncle is at every home game. Great support, great kid, funny how they go hand in hand.

Well deserved award for Ekblad. What a mature kid for his age. Can't wait to see this kid next year, and the year after that, and the year after that...

I'm hoping we get a year of him as an 18 year old. Not many defencemen make the NHL at that age, though I could see him being one. Pietrangelo looked like he belonged there when he was playing for the Colts, but he was still here.

Depends on the team really.

How much help they need at that area. I seriously doubt he doesn't make it at 19 though.

Brendan Lemieux? Isn't he committed to UND? Does DH think he can get him to report?

Brenden Perlini is a great pick up. One of the premier forwards in the draft. Is a top 5 quality talent that will make an instant impact.

Good to hear since we will most likely be losing Telegin and losing Behenna.

Barrie traded for Ray Huether in the summer, and he'll be on the team next season for sure. He's dominating with the Stratford Cullitons right now. He'll provide some scoring for the Colts.

He is committed to UND and he tweeted yesterday about being drafted "Congrats to all drafted in the #OHL just to clarify I will not be joining them but due to my commitment to UND! But am very proud of them"

I thought so. Then again, Scheifele had committed to Cornell...

Yeah I guess I would not be shocked if he didn't show up at UND. We have had bad luck with that recently (JT Miller and Stefan Matteau).

This team has faced injuries all year...so many of them. This is not new but it has to be hard...rolled 4 D and really 2 F lines as well all OT....that's so tough.
