Figured I'd start one up since we are getting relatively *close* to clinching a playoff spot and will soon start to eliminate teams from our perspective. And this is deluxe because I'm considering more than just the standard magic number, see the tables below!
NOTE: Unless tiebreaker is decided (see below), assuming Devils lose the tiebreaker and would need 1 more point to clinch. Once we eliminate a team, I'm no longer going to keep track of their place in the standings or the tiebreaker information with them!

Senators: Undecided (Devils currently ahead by 2 points in the head to head with 1 game remaining)
Winnipeg is only on pace for 88 points, so realistically if we crack 90 points we'll be in for sure. Anything can happen, so we need to win as many games as possible, but I'm not worried.
We are 5.5 games ahead of Buffalo with 10 left. If they catch us we aren't doing damage in the playoffs anyway
You're right, but a lot of people don't understand why I am legitimately concerned.
When there are games like yesterday quite often when the Devils don't show up it's hard to have a lot of faith in this team. It's one blunder that hasn't slowed down or gone away.
It could be Winnipeg too. Not just Buffalo.
I know the chances are low, but I wouldn't put anything past it.

The Devils have approximately 0% chance of missing the playoffs. That's why nobody "understands why you're legitimately concerned."

I think they will make the playoffs.
The question is will it be 8th seed? Or 6th?
They gotta start showing up more though.
The ROW tiebreaker thing is in the back of my mind at times too. Though if we get to 95 points there is no doubt in my mind it will factor. 93 points, and it probably won't make no difference. Would make me more comfortable.
Even seeding isn't going to change that much. We're probably like 65-70% to take 6th and 15% for each of 5th and 7th.
Lot of games between all the teams. We have two against Ottawa, one against Pitt. Ottawa also has one against Pitt, one against Philly and one against 'Peg, Philly has one against Wash, one against Florida, and two against Pitt, etc. It's going to cut down on movement pretty heavily and our actual clinch is going to come much earlier than you'd expect.

Every team loses by 3 once in a while. We're not the only team to do that.
This team handles adversity very well and tends to bounce back quick. We're not missing the playoffs.
Honestly, it's entirely possible that we could lose every game in regulation the rest of the way and still make the playoffs. This season is going to have lowest scoring 8-seeds ever.
Still bitter about '02, '06 and '09, I hope that team never makes the playoffs again.
I hope they keep MacLean and stay in the basement forever.
I don't irrationally hate any other team in any sport more than the Canes.
The irrational hate is becoming a bonus though, as my boss is a Bruins fan and it's common ground between the two of us. I love working in an office where the only thing I need to do to get on my boss' good side is say "**** the canes"
I wanna beat the Canes more than any other team cause of the last game. I would love to see Kovy get a hat trick, and point at Mac Loser laughing hysterically on his way to the bench.
Bad things happen when Maclean, and Kovy are in the same building though. Kovy don't score either unless it's for the other team.
And if you think we're gonna be able to make the playoffs losing every game left in regulation that's crazy.
Can anyone really say if we lost 5 in a row no one would be worried? We could probably go less than 500. Definitely less than 500. 3-4 more wins will get us in no problem at all, but we're gonna have to win some games.
By the way I don't think we're gonna lose 5 in a row just saying we're gonna have to win a few more games that's all.
