With Lupul, Kulemin and Brown out, we stand even less of a chance against Boston.

Of course, the Leafs like to operate in bizarro world and always do the opposite of what is expected. When they're in the thick of things and expected to make the playoffs, they collapse and fail miserably. When they're long out of the playoffs and the hope is gone, they go on a miraculous run and suck everyone back in, only to lower their draft pick and end up in "No Man's Land", which is a mediocre draft pick and no playoffs.

So with that being said, I think we'll win tonight and unfortunately go on a hot run to end the season 10th in the East, drafting somewhere between 8-10.

lol you do realize that if we win tonight and tomorrow and Wash loses tonight, we'd only be 2 points out

Next time try to be a little more subtle when you attempt to troll another teams GDT.

Hoping for big games from Kessel and Grabo.

At the end of the day, I could care less what the result is. Would be nice to not be swept by them though.

Would have loved it if we had a couple of recalls to burn, nothing to play for but pride, and Orr and Mark Fraser would to see in the line up to add truclence. Mac and Grabo fighting while nice, is not what you want in the long run against a physical.

That's not the right way of looking at it, and that's assuming Washington loses tonight and we win both games in a back-to-back, something that's only happened once this season, against New Jersey and Columbus, who were both mediocre/bad teams at that time (New Jersey is much better than us now, Columbus still sucks).

On top of that you have to factor in other teams and their schedules, we still have to leapfrog Washington, Winnipeg, Buffalo and Carolina. Buffalo and Carolina have been playing amazing hockey lately. Our schedule is also relatively difficult for the remainder of the season.

The way I see it, the average to make the playoffs post-lockout for the 8th seed has been 93 pts. This year, the East is a bit weaker, so it's possible that only 90-91 pts would be enough. There are 10 games left in the season, and to get to that mark, we'd have to win 9 out of our remaining 10 games, and even then it's not a guarantee cause any team can get hot and go on a ridiculous streak. Even if we win all 10 games, we still end up with only 92 pts.

Now do you see how difficult it is? Put everything into perspective and face reality. It's not gonna happen. If it does, I'll gladly eat crow and celebrate a playoff berth, but if it doesn't I won't cry over it because I already accepted the pain and agony of another season of no playoffs after we lost to Pittsburgh 3-2 a couple of weeks ago.

and btw we won 3 back to back games, New Jersey and Columbus, Buffalo and Islanders and the home and home games against the Islanders before the ASG break

My mistake on that. Even still, look at the quality of teams in those back-to-backs.

At the time, Buffalo was a garbage team, NYI sucked and still does, and then we had a home-home with NYI lol In any of our back-to-backs where we actually faced half-decent teams, we only won one or lost both.

However, I see that we are playing NYI tomorrow Considering our luck with them this season, if we win tonight (which I doubt), it wouldn't be so farfetched to get the back-to-back if we can beat NYI again. Maybe you're right about the b2b, though I still think playoffs are out of reach.
