I don't think JDD was that great. I thought he was ok at best. I 100% do not want him as the backup goalie.
Wow that 3rd line was dominate. Love the fact that KP and Ryan have chemistry. That's huge going forward. Would still love to add another center but Bonino has done a great job.
We are seeing 1st hand why Blake should have been traded at deadline and why Hagman shouldn't be be re-signed (there's no place on roster for him if team wants to improve).
And the feeling of beating San Jose when they've got everything to play for and we, well.. don't have much. Good to see Palmieri keeping it rolling and Bones with the three point night. And a backup? Boudreau going nutso and Deslauriers somehow getting the W, have to feel good about that one.
Just stopped by to say thanks for the help tonight. its a bummer you guys started so slowly because you are good enough to be in the fight for the division.

You should cut JDD some slack. It's been a few months since he's faced any game shots and SJ is one of the league leaders in shots this season. Like it or not, he's our backup for next season as he's already signed on a one-way contract for $612K. He'll probably see between 12-15 games at most as long as Hiller stays healthy. We don't need a $1.5M-$2.0M backup as a practice goalie when the cap savings could be better used elsewhere.

DesLaurier is good. He played well tonight, and in the game against dallas. He's not Hiller but IMO he is better than both Ellis and Emery.

Let's not exaggerate. He was better than expected, but he wasn't THAT good. If the Ducks weren't on tonight we could've easily lost. Ellis and Emery have a history of stealing games for us. JDD looked nervous on a LOT of plays.

I hope we actually go out and get someone capable of starting 15-30 games, every year you can generally get decent backups on the cheap. I'm against starting any goalie much more than 65 or so games, they always burn out in the playoffs. When was the last time a goalie starting 65+ made an impact in the playoffs?

Exactly. If we want to improve, Blake and Hagman must go to start. Then we'll focus on Beleskey and the rest of that 4th line later.
Game Notes:
Ryan looks like he's having more fun and is more interested when on the ice with KP and Bonino. Trying harder or just found his groove, idk.
Palmieri: Kids a beast. He got or was involved in a scoring chance almost every time he was out there.
Bonino: Another good game. I think he might be good to have around for our 3rd line center, who can also fill in on the 2nd line next year if there are injuries.
DSP: I like his fit with the top line. He's got some adjusting. Needs to improve on his balance/stability when battling for a puck and maybe getting chemistry with the twins but other than that it seems like it should be a good fit. Excited to see how they play going forward. Same with the 3rd.
Almost forgot to mention Guenin. Looks good every time he plays and adds some toughness to the D. He's got size and he's the only one i've seen to get in the other teams face when they are around our crease. Finally, someone stands up for the goalie.
Palmieri has looked like a completely different player this callup. If you notice, he is getting to the dirty areas everytime he is on the ice. Whoever told him to get a little Perry in his game should be given a raise.
will watch game when it comes on game center. i have no ****ing idea why it was blacklisted... ****ing pretty mad about that still. Hope DSP stays on the first line for next game, but am pretty pissed he wasn't put there sooner.
