Can Someone please explain how The Blues Clicnched?

I understand the the Avalanche, currently in 7th, can only get 99 points, but San Jose, Los Angelos, and Calgary can get more than 100. So the math does not add up. So can someone please explain the rules in regards to this..

all those teams play against each other, so it is impossible for all of them to get the maximum amount of points, therefore, we clinched

San Jose, LA, and Calgary probably play each other, which means all of them can't get there.

Phoenix has to win every single game and not even take an OT loss. So they beat San Jose twice. Give San Jose two loser points in those games. Now they can only give up one more point. LA can only give up one point. LA and San Jose play three times, so there are at least three points combined they won't gain. Thus, the Blues have clinched.

Yep. Might be helpful to add that St Louis has clinched the ROW tiebreak against Phoenix and LA, so in your calculation you're using the fact that those two have to get to 101 to be above St Louis.
