That cheapshot Doan made just shows, along with his 4 or five other cheapshot moves, how much of a dirtball dbag player he really is. Can't believe so many people feel is a super classy player who should be placed high up on a pedastal.

Hope he gets a 5 game suspension minimum.

Couldn't avoid reading what Phoenix fans thought about it. Can't believe they actually think Benn faked it.

Can't imagine him getting five since Benn continued to play.

That's OK, ScubaSteve thinks Benn put his own face into Doans bicep

This is so true, he goes 6 hole every time. I like the idea of switching Wandell and Morrow, but that 4th line would be so slow they could be a real liability

Which means they agree it was dirty ... if it was a questionable play, they'd be arguing that it caught his shoulder/whatever part of his body you want to say.

When it's clear contact with the head, and the head is clearly targeted as opposed to incidental contact I guess the appropriate response would be attacking the integrity of the player receiving the hit, right?

One of them was saying he wasn't even targeting the head! Beyond ridiculous.

Just expected more out of Tippett coached team. Never though Phoenix was dirty, gritty..definitely, but not dirty. Definitely changed my opinion of them tonight. Hope they sit with the Sharks come April. Too bad this might be our last ever game against them as a Phoenix team. First time I've actually felt a strong strong dislike for a team (Anaheim aside) in a while.

Watching the post game interviews now. Only watched Ribs and the first part of Gulutzan's so far but right away, they both seemed way way disappointed in the ending despite the win. Glad to see they're not hiding behind the win, which they would've done last year.

I'm sure Morrow couldn't be happier with the way it ended.

Anyone notice the PA announcer called "Number 24, Eric Nystrom" as the primary assist on Ryder's second goal? Weird lol

Yea I ventured to their board and it seems that most of their posters seem to think Benn deserves it and that he sucks and embellished it.

Sounds to me like they're just jealous of us being able to have young forwards who can actually play and WANT to stick with our team.

Gully sounds pissed to all hell. I'm betting despite the win they get a pretty big earful from the coaching staff tomorrow. Last time Gully was this mad we went on a 11 game point streak. Let's hope that trend continues and they tighten their play back up.

Interesting how he basically says Loui-Ribs-Ryder have some leeway for making risky passes and such, but basically no one else does. "The rules aren't the same for everyone."

Per Bob McKenzie:

As expected, PHX's Shane Doan has a disciplinary hearing with NHL today for his elbow last night on DAL's Jamie Benn.

Y'know, given Phaneuf's fall from grace wearing the "C" in Toronto, and Morrow's similar recent failings here, would anyone be opposed to a straight-up swap in the offseason?

Phaneuf's got a hefty price tag, sure, and obviously I'd much rather spend that coin on Suter. But if we get beaten to the punch on the Suter front, does anyone think Phaneuf would fit in in Dallas?

Or would it be Sean Avery all over again?

Not saying he'd get the "C" once he came here, but I think he'd be a solid top-4 guy in Dallas. He's already outscoring every d-man on our roster (hell, he's also outscoring Morrow ), and maybe outside of the Toronto pressure-cooker he'd relax and start playing like he did in Calgary.

If we miss on Suter and all it takes is Morrow, sure.

Just give Benn the C after that. Loui and Daley (yes, him) should get the A's IMO. Maybe Ribs as the third or over Daley.

Don't know if he'd fit, though. He's just Fistric with more offense IYAM. Monstrous hits, but they often get him out of position. I would love another blast from the point, though, and he could make Souray expendable.

That said, I doubt this would happen. Leafs nation would probably implode along with HFBoards.

Nevermind, I thought his contract was up next year.

Doubt it, unless Gagliardi doesn't mind paying him in the minors if he sucks.

I don't think Toronto would do that. He'd be an improvement on all our defensemen and we wouldn't trade Daley or Gogo for a player like Morrow.

Maybe not.

However, Burke would trade for a player like Morrow.

Then again, acquiring Phaneuf was a rare hit amongst a plethora of misses during Burke's tenure as Leafs GM. Maybe he's not quite ready to move him just yet. But Morrow (supposedly) brings that "truculence" Burke keeps harping on about.

I feel these two players hold near-equal value at this point, at least on the ice.

Financially and in the locker room, well, that's another story.

Bottom line is I wouldn't exactly be punching walls if this deal were to go down.

Phx fan here. So one incident in a heated rivalry game for the divisional lead makes you hate a team??? Yikes. I guess I have great hatred for the stars for being dirty and targeting klesla.

I really wish it was ott's face instead of benn's

I don't suspect it will be that much. It's the thick of the playoffs with less than 10 to go. I see a 2 game tops, especially since he returned back to the game.

He is a 2 time repeat offender so it will be more than 2 games.

itll be a joke if its not more than 2 games. It was blatant and the guy is a repeat offender which they are supposed to take into account. I think it should be 5 games but I also think Shanahan will find some excuse to be lenient.

You are basically wishing injury on a player who is not on the team you support...therefor trolling! If you wanna talk about the game then fine but do it with respect if you are going to discuss it on another teams board...capeesh?
