Now that we only have 10 games left and we are up 9 points on Buffalo and the team has won 2 in a row for the first time in a while, I felt we needed a thread to determine a specific concept for the playoff avatars this year.
As some of you know, I have been extremely busy for the past 3 months, but I now have some free time to knock these out again. There is another thread that we made in season avatars for and started discussing a playoff idea, but I figured this was a good place to come up with the final idea as a board.
As you may have noticed that some people have been sporting a Breaking Bad theme avatar:
That is one idea we can go with and just make it into a gif. Or we can come up with others here.
Last year we went with these:
Leave your ideas here and I or another photoshop guru on here will hopefully be able to put together a few concepts. Then we as a board can decide on the best.
PLEASE don't start asking "Can you make me one of these with [insert player here]" after each concept. Let the board decide on a concept as a whole then we will crank them out.
Every great and similar movie/comic/book villain is paired up with his corresponding Bruin. The whole board thinks we're bad guys anyway. Would be hilarious to come up with villains for everyone.
Rolston is Magneto (because he is old and grey)
Chara is Godzilla or Cloverfield
Marchand is The Joker
Seidenberg is the Red Skull (German)
Claude is Lex Luthor (lol)
Chiarelli is Dr Octopus or Dr Evil
Neely is Dr Doom
Lucic is Juggernaut or Darth Vader etc...
Thornton is Kingpin or Hannibal Lector
McQuaid is Sabretooth or Shredder
Pouilliot is the Riddler (since nobody can figure out why he isn't always good, lol)
I still like the "To or not to ?" Idea.
Where they are defending champs and going for it again, it is a fitting question. Will they do it again, or will they not?
Will we have a.gif avatar like we did last year? If so what should go on the other side?
Maybe something like the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs logo?

considering our uneven year and long slump recently maybe some sort of flip the switch themed avatar.
so we can turn it on for the playoffs.
2 panels one thats like a silhouette of the player in a dark background then flip the switch to a brighter version of the background (preferable one that looks like a horror movie setting) and we have images of the players with battle faces.
such as
horror movie style room to place the players in. this one also has a convient light source to photoshop on and off.
I was thinking a heroes vs. villains theme. Like we see the Bruins as heroes, but everyone else sees them as villains.
Another idea, I thought of was doing a "Us against the World" type thing seeing as we all agree that the Refs and Shanaban pretty much hate us.
I'll try to throw together a few concepts this afternoon.
I really like the breaking bad ones. Maybe do something with villains o the flip side but keeping the overall theme. Instead of defending chaps, on the flip side have it say us against the world or something like that.

The Breaking Bad ones are cool, but many of us don't watch the show (1), and (2) IMO its not a good playoff avatar nor does the premise of the show fit the Bruins besides (maybe) the show name.
Villains vs. hero's or just villains IMO is the best so far. Fits the teams persona PERFECT this year because everyone always thinks the bruins are "villains". Last years avatars were great like this because it had to do with the Bruins.
So my vote is 100% for the villains idea, unless another one pops up that i like
