I am going to guess that Malkin reaches 100 on Thursday against the Islander and hits 50 on the last game of the season against Philly.

Nah, let's have some fun . . . I say he hits 100 on Tuesday at home against the Islanders and hits 50 goals on Thursday at New York.

I know you're joking obviously but I don't think Sid or Geno have ever had a 4 goal game, which always surprises me as they both have had their share of hattricks.

I remember thinking Sid was gonna do it last year against Atlanta when he had a a hattrick at about halfway through the game but it never happened.

Be really cool to see one or both of them hit a 4 goal game in their careers.

I thought Geno has a 4 goal game against Phoenix last season, no?

Edit: Nope, he had a 5 point game. Don't know why I thought he scored 4.

Now that 100 is out of the way Geno doesn't half to press so much. Hopefully he gets 50 goals that would be a nice number.

Malkin 50 goals (3 more) - Career high 50 goals
Neal 40 goals (3 more) - Career high 40 goals
Cooke 20 goals (1 more) - Career high 20 goals
Staal 5 points (5 more) - Career high 50 points

Geno definitely looks like the clear MVP favorite. Who will the other two finalists for the Hart Memorial Trophy be?

It'll be between Stamkos, Giroux and Lundqvist I would guess.

I see it as 8 points ahead of Stamkos, because if they are tied in the end Stamkos would win the Art Ross.

I honestly think that the media is going to find a way to screw Malkin out of it. I have a feeling Lundqvist is going to get it somehow.

if any goalie gets it it should be Quick. He'd be my runner up to Malkin for the Hart.

Sucks Staal was hurt for such a big chunk of the season. He could have had 30 easy.

If the Penguins didn't have so many injuries to key players on their team, a lot of them would be having career years right now.

Crosby - 24 goals, 109 assists, 133 points.
Malkin - 50 goals, 58 assists, 108 points.
Neal - 40 goals, 42 assists, 82 points.
Letang - 14 goals, 58 assists, 72 points.
Staal - 30 goals, 34 assists, 64 points.
Dupuis - 24 goals, 31 assists, 55 points.
Kennedy - 17 goals, 25 assists, 42 points.
Cooke - 20 goals, 20 assists, 40 points.
Engelland - 4 goals, 14 assists, 18 points.
Vitale - 4 goals, 9 assists, 13 points.

Obviously Vitale's a rookie, I just thought I'd throw that in there. I'm also doubtful Crosby would have that many assists and so few goals, probably mid to high 30's in goals and around sixty or seventy assists.

A. Generalizing from such a small sample (for Crosby in particular) is stupid, and B. When comparing him to Malkin you're assuming Crosby would play 82 games, and Malkin would only play the 75 games he will likely play this season.

Those projections are also skewed because a lot of guys stepped up and put up points in place of players that were out of the lineup. But it at least shows depth and what these guys are capable of.

While Neal wont win the Artross, looking down that list Neal is only 7 points away from friggin Giroux...hell of a season this kid is having. 2 points away from Spezza. Let's hope Neal has 10-11 points in his last 4 games for 89-90. Another 8 points in 2 games would help alot.
