Andy Frost will sigh many times. He'll ask everyone what is wrong with the team and then praise Burke.

<repeat>

why do out analysts always try to blame things on, confidence. Or leadership. Or some other nonsense cliche

maybe they just aren't that talented, it's not like this roster is high pedigree. They're mostly castoffs and has-beens.

man burke keeps on talking about how we were good for most of the season then had a tough stretch

it seems to me this team is done though, mentally borken, defeated etc

i really don't see them competing next year unless there are MAJOR changes to change its psyche

i don't see how burke will get that done since most guys are under contract without mortgaging our future BIG TIME

Man this team sucks lol.

So what's the difference between a team like Edmonton that expects to be last and have no problem going into the season with that expectation and how the Leafs "compete" annually for the playoffs again? Both look a lot like tanking to me in the end run! At least with the Oilers you don't get your hopes up only to have them crapped on in the worst way every year like the Leafs! Plus, you get a good draft pick when you keep them that is

What do all these teams have in common? They are all competitive yearly. Some are Champions. The Leafs org as a whole has done a piss poor job @ putting forth a team that does not compete. When will this rubbish change?
When we keep our draft picks things will change. Sure some will be busts but in the end most will panout

But our record with Phaneuf in the lineup is awesome! and I hear that July 1st will be our draft man!

He's basically gonna have to do what he did to boost the team's mental state the last 2 years: Make a trade. Or I guess sign somebody, but like you said, most of our cap money is tied up it seems.

Mate I dont really care if they win the Afc or Nfc or whatever fc they are in. They compete for the division/ rank whatever title they call it. Yearly.

If you watched for the whole season, this team had high confidence at the start of the year and now you can't find a single sliver of confidence in anybody.
It has been a huge affect on these guys and the problem is clearly leadership in the room.

for some reason the oilers keep winning once in a while down the stretch here. up 5-2 tonight so far too..

they may be crazy enough to win their way to a 3rd or 4th overall this year.. progress!
