So what's the difference between a team like Edmonton that expects to be last and have no problem going into the season with that expectation and how the Leafs "compete" annually for the playoffs again? Both look a lot like tanking to me in the end run! At least with the Oilers you don't get your hopes up only to have them crapped on in the worst way every year like the Leafs! Plus, you get a good draft pick when you keep them that is
Absolute joke of a org. Lets go through this. Orgs held in high regard/ revenue generating such as our Leafs
MLB: Yankees/ Sox
NBA: Lakers/ Knicks? I donno
La Liga: FCB/ Real Madrid
Premiershp: ManUnre/ Chelsea
NFL: Cowboys/ Pats
What do all these teams have in common? They are all competitive yearly. Some are Champions. The Leafs org as a whole has done a piss poor job @ putting forth a team that does not compete. When will this rubbish change?
When we keep our draft picks things will change. Sure some will be busts but in the end most will panout
Cowboys suck, sure they make the playoffs because Romo is an elite quarterback but they're never going to win anything in their current state...and their owner doesn't want to step down from making those decisions.
Mate I dont really care if they win the Afc or Nfc or whatever fc they are in. They compete for the division/ rank whatever title they call it. Yearly.
why do out analysts always try to blame things on, confidence. Or leadership. Or some other nonsense cliche
maybe they just aren't that talented, it's not like this roster is high pedigree. They're mostly castoffs and has-beens.
If you watched for the whole season, this team had high confidence at the start of the year and now you can't find a single sliver of confidence in anybody.
It has been a huge affect on these guys and the problem is clearly leadership in the room.
