What would it take to pry Cody Beach from the Blues? Would they take Palushaj back ?

There are others like him on this board. Thinking everything translates into a pretty little stat. I'd love to see Moen, Staubitz and White on this team....along with a tough as nails Dman who can play 20 minutes.

Staubitz will cost 600-700k, getting Prust away from NYR(obviously they'll try and keep him) would cost 1.75-2.0 mil. Not in the same area code.

The one thing that is noticeable right now, is the better teams have some serious toughness, NYR, Boston, NJD, in the East anyhow....we do need a couple of guys who will drop em, and this was not recognized by BG and PG......(* the Laraque experiment notwithstanding )

It doesn't mean anything either way. It's all about assuring everyone that the team is perfect the way it is, until it changes then NOW it's perfect. Which is why it's really only remarkable if a player veers off from the cliches to criticize a teammate or coach. Otherwise, this subject isn't any different from pretty much any other: players don't express themselves, they do PR.
That's a gross assumption on your part (again). What if what the players are saying came from the heart? Ever thought of that?

What makes me think that? Because most players will tell you the same "off the record". Yes, I've spoken to several players over the years, some current Habs' players even, and they're saying exactly the same as Desharnais... but it doesn't go along what YOU think, so let's try to demolish it because it "can't be measured in stats".

I did. Why would we assume they're speaking from the heart now and not when they're talking about "team toughness"?

Another thing: why should we think that players are the best judges of team makeup? With the way so many of them fall flat as GMs or coaches, one would think that perhaps they're not.

So Ducks fans don't really want him back because he doesn't really fight anymore, and you want him why?

Even if we are dead last in the East, it's my favourite Habs roster in a while !
The tandem Staubitz/White is awesome. Not the best, but we can answer the bell and be a respected team again !

There are a lot more fighters in the East.

Somehow I think if we had 12 Staubitz and Whites as forwards, you would be the happiest Habs fan in the world

No haha But I definitely like to have 3 or 4 tough customers in my team. We lacked this so much in recent years

Well the Stanley Cup 1993 Habs had quite a bit of muscle. Roberge, Ewen, Odelein.
Mike Keane was a tough middleweight, he could chuck him for his size.

The 1986 team was even tougher and meaner.

Little bit bizzare that the addition of Brad Staubitz took you from hating the team to it being your favourite roster in years. Easily pleased?

This season is done. It was done and over during the preseason games.

Lose and get pushed around

vs

Lose and stand up for your teammates.

I know which one I choose and sadly, I know which one you choose.

Staubitz FTW.

Staubitz is becoming a Hab.

BGL would never have jumped Konopka for his transgression.

Help Staubitz develop as a player and keep him.

Staubitz is showing that he MEANS it. He wants to be a Hab, he's meshing well with his teammates, and he doesn't give much of a **** about the size of his paycheck... now just bring Kovalev on as an ambassador and teach him to stickhandle, and he'll be a force.

Resign Blunden. He's the type of 13th forward this team needs. Plays tough, hits very well (dude always finishes his checks too) and is a big body presence.

And you are one of those who think we are winning this season?

You can change your underwear but you cannot change the reality of this season.

You probably have no idea which one I choose due to your lack of actually reading what other people say. As I said at the time, had no issue with getting Staubitz and he's been better than advertised actually.

But that's not the question at all. Did Staubitz change this rsoter of players from a group you saw as a soft bunch of losers to your favourite roster of players in years? Because that was what the poster I was replying to said.
