SHARKS. I want the SHARKS. Mainly because we own them, and also because it would be the start of our exorcism to make up for 1999-2000 season.
LA is playing really well, but I think they end up with the 7 seed. I'm pretty much indifferent on the rest.
We just had everyone practice for the 1st time since game 10 of last season, so if we get fully healthy, there really isn't a team out of that bunch that I fear. Still prefer to face San Jose out of the bunch.
God dang I meant to vote for Phoenix as my most wanted opponent, but accidentally voted for LA. I think the Kings would be our toughest opponent. Here is my list, in order of who I would most like to face to who I would least like to face:
Not to ruin the party by talking about hockey, but I voted Colorado. I'm not afraid of any of those teams, but, while they have a few really skilled players, I think they're the least talented overall and have the worst coaching.
Phoenix has good defense and goaltending and killer coaching. Lehtonen does very well against the Blues and Dallas is just a damn good team when they turn it on. Quick is killer and when LA shows up, their size can match the Blues' size. San Jose is a weird one. The Blues have dominated them, they're fairly slow, and they seem to lack a certain something; but they have the size and talent to be a serious threat. Especially if Havlat and/or Niemi get hot.
There are at least a couple of potential reasons to fear the rest of the teams, but Varlamov's turning into the Hulk would be the only reason to fear the Avs.
I voted Sharks as well. I hate them. On that list, the team that I am least looking forward to playing is LA. They have underachieved all year and to see them playing well now and with Quick as their goalie is a recipe for a upset whoever they play.
my heart says san jose seeing as we have beat them 4 out of 4 times, my mind says beating san jose 8 out of a possible 11 times in one season is HIGHLY unlikely, and that last loss to the blues seems to have sparked a playoff run for them
Sharks. Gutless team. Excuse fetish fans. Slow, not as physical, not deep, terrible goaltending, led by Chokin' Joe. The only reason I wouldn't want it to be Sharks is for them to miss so I could laugh harder.
San Jose, Phoenix or Colorado. Any of those would be okay for The Blues to handle. L.A. could possibly put it all together at the wrong time for The Blues. Dallas can sometimes surprise people. Chicago can play very well at times.
LA are going to be a dangerous team and San Jose are underachieving, I think we can take Colorado the easiest , Phoenix and Dallas I'm confident we can take them as well.
