Replacing suspender anchors

The jean button-like anchors keep pulling apart and I'm tired of replacing them. Has anyone tried replacing the anchors with nuts and bolts or something a bit hardier than the standard buttons?

Mine ripped off. I ended up just sewing the suspenders straight to the pants. Works fine.
